  1. I would suggest contacting the Resolutions Department. Recently, I used one of our Future Cruise Certificates that were purchased in 2007 that allowed combinability. After several e-mails to investor relations I contacted Resolutions with a 3-way call (Travel Agent). They researched my situation and confirmed I was eligible and granted the shareholders OBC. They explained that investor relation only looks at the date the cruise was purchased and does not go back into the history of the certificate. I know this is a different situation, but it can not hurt to try!

  2. CaludiaB,

We had 6146 on our recent Panama Canal Cruise. The stateroom was exceptional, bathroom was decorated exceptionally, and the decor of the room was outstanding. The balcony was large, it accommodated two loungers, a table and two chairs. Regarding the small balcony door, plenty of sunlight streamed and the room was never dark during the daytime. We were invited in by the temporary residence of the Penthouse, and that suite was unbelievable. That will be our next suite on a future cruise.

Only twice did we ever hear the piano, but it was muted, never an annoyance.

  3. Last December we were one of six ships in Port Everglades. We got off the infinity at 0800, and it took over an hour to get transportation to the airport. if you got off with the early/carry your luggage off, and there was a limited security line. You may make it. Every time we have flown out of Fort Lauderdale it has take about an hour to check in, and go through TSA (TSA Precheck). Personally, I think it is cutting it to close.

  4. Sky616, I have a B2B booked for 9 April & 16 April 16, at about 10:45 pm I spoke to C&A Diamond Plus desk to confirm the status of 16 April. I was told internally the cruise does not show chartered. But when CS checked website it showed N/A, she no idea why. But from this CS rep the booking is still good.

I was wondering about the email you received from your TA did it say that 16 April & 30 April cancelled. Once again, the Diamond Plus desk stated no charters are showing for the those 2 dates.

A person the 16 April rollcall was just told the cruise was cancelled and booked 2 April 16. Just a lot of misinformation going on!

    Thanks for any assistance.

  5. I have never used Choice Air, but I always flew Delta for leisure and business. However, Delta is constantly changing equipment. On my last series of flights to San Diego, Delta changed my business booking 8 times in two months. I never received a notice. In fact the only noticed I received was when was boarding the flight that my seat was changed. Thirty minutes before that I was in another seat.

So it is not solely Choice Air that changes flights and does not notify of itinerary changes.

  6. Yesterday, when I saw the change the cruise pre-planner my first response oh, no! After checking our 4 pending cruises, Royal's IT department did not disappoint me. IT history has repeated itself. I always wonder why when something is working why do they have to change it for the worst.

On our Freedom cruise it shows two diner reservations and two entertainment choice picked. Prior to the change all we have is the character breakfast and Ice show. I can not see what has been selected. Well we have time to work it out.

  7. I was able to reserves the Character Breakfast on our upcoming Freedom Cruise, what I suggest is go into your booking reservation-booking dashboard page, click on Pre-cruise Planner, Click on the tab labeled Reserve or Modify Entertainment, the next page at the top right hand side will have a box Select One, click, a drop down box will appear, click on the Onboard Activities, click on the tab to right that says GO, and then several choices will be available including the Character Breakfast.

    It work for me.

  9. edeneyes,

    Thanks for the info.

Oh, yes my DW reminded me about a funny incident on our B2B about 7 years ago on the Majesty. It was just my DW, DS, and I doing the B2B. We were escorted off by Guest Service Manager, and brought to Customs. We were cleared and brought back to ship in about 2 minutes. That is where the fun began. About 15 munutes after we on the ship our name began being paged and were told to go to security. When we arrived at security they wanted to know why we were still on the ship. Explained doing a B2B, and had checked in the customs. We were sent on our way. About 30 minutes later we were paged again. Went to security we had to run our old seapass through the machine then the new seapass. Sent on our way. At about 11:30 when they are about to board to new passengers, we were paged again. Went to security. They could not figure out why it kept us showing still on the ship for previous cruise. This time the Captain was at security along with hotel director, security manager and customer service manager. Apparently we were holding up the boarding process. What they did was manually clear us from the past cruise. No could explain why it happened. This never happened on any other B2B. We all though it was pretty hysterical. During the cruise numerous times we had to go to customer service to re-activate our seapasses.

I always wondered what would have happened if we decided on leaving the ship after going to customs, an option we were offered.

  10. We have done B2B out of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and New Orleans-no problems at all. We had a crew members form guest services walk us through ICE, and escort us back on the ship. Royal has a special lunch for B2B(Consecutive cruisers).

However, we will be doing a B2B in San Juan shortly. Anyone know how that process works in an Juan?

  11. You know Paulxyz2004 maybe onto something!

Why should I pay for the nightly entertainment when I don't go. The Ice Show should charge admission, as should the Love and Marriage Show, and all the other shows that I don't go to. Someone has to pay for the stage crew, the producers, the performers, the headliners, and etc. Royal Caribbean should become the Allegiant Air of the cruise lines.

They will be the first, instead of following the cruise industry standard. Think of it you pay for what you use. Royal Caribbean will follow suit and lower their cruise fares!! Oh Boy!! I can see it now!! No more complaints on cost! Everybody will be happy!

But what will included in the cruise fare? Only getting you from point A, point B or wherever. Allegiant Air of the Seas pay for what you use. Love it!

    NOT!

  12. Just a few added remarks about the old NCC (2007, which still allows combining discounts). Last May I had my travel agent book a cruise on the Freedom of the Seas (30 NOV 14 Owners Suite-Family Vacation 8 other staterooms) using one of our old NCC. There was no problem with the appropriate OBC, and balcony discount. The problems started with the savings certificate offered last July for this cruise. I advised the TA and she contacted Royal. Royal refused to apply-not combinable! I had to make a conference call with the TA and Resolutions Department. After explaining the situation and the rep went far enough back into the NCC history of the savings certificate was applied. The Resolutions Agent added a note to the booking explaining the history. Last week I applied for shareholders benefit-denied-not combinable. Another conference call to Diamond Plus desk transferred to Resolutions Department after several more minutes the benefit was applied. I can't wait if a military/law enforcement/state discount is given for the cruise. I am getting very good at setting up conference calls.

I still have 1 more 2007 NCC left.

  13. So let me get this right. If I want a GS that has a connecting cabin, but I don't want the connecting cabin I should not get the GS. So I should choose another GS that does not have a connecting cabin even though I do not want the cabin under the overhanging whirlpool and tinted glass as on the Freedom Class. Or am I missing something.

Now I see it, the higher rated cabin determines accessibility and who can have the connecting cabin.

Oh, yes the suite some body else wants has a premium higher so I should not get the connecting room even though I can afford the connected suite. So those with higher ability to pay or prestige have the final say about who can purchase a connecting room or suite.

So I should give up my suite I have chosen, to be courteous to some one who needs my room to have friends closer.

If I don't get my way I will play the player piano loud to drive them out. Courtesy at its best.

So let me ask this when would this cabin musical chairs stop.

The one question that sparked this discussion focused on the Sky Suite 6145/6146 on the Celebrity M Class. Explain to me why I should not be eligible for that cabin, which is decorated diffidently than the other sky suites-different features my friend, not like the other sky suites.

So what will happen when some one with higher prestige or notoriety wants your penthouse suite. Do you think that person should get your cabin?

I want the ability to chose what cabin I want to rent for a week or more because I am entitled just as much as the next guy. If you want the adjoining room book it the day the bookings opened just like I did.
