  1. I am not sure about special pricing but if it's true would be good. When I last talked to a PVP that called the house she told me in addition to making sure I received the best possible price (may be the same as on line) she would notify me of any price reductions and take care of making sure I received the new discounted rate after I booked. I also told her what the next cruise we wanted to take and I was waiting for the price to go down before I booked it. She said she would monitor and let me know. It actually went down and I booked it myself on line and never heard back from her. Not really sure if there is value or not. I also lost her contact info. No way of knowing if she is still my PVP or not.

  2. I am not thrilled about no smoking on balconies. Imagine the casino bar, the entire floor would be a fog of smoke if every smoker went there instead of their room. I sincerely hope they ban it on port side though, then people who smoke can book starboard side balconies (if I remember starboard is the smoking side on deck). Non smokers can use the port side balconies everyone happy.

Now that is an idea everyone can live with!!

  3. Be Careful, they drive on the wrong side of the road, it took us a while to get the hang of it. It was a great way to get around and we had fun but it was a bit scary at first.

  4. Hi all! I'm sailing on the Carnival Pride in July. We already paid our balance, but someone pointed me to the Cruise Critic Price Drop page, and it looks like our fare went down! Is there a way I can get Carnival to honor the new price? Do I just call and ask? I have no idea how this works, but if I could get some money back that would be great. If I need to call, what do I say so they actually give it to me instead of just telling me they can't do anything about it?

I normally go on the Carnival Web site and create a booking (up to the point I see the price then back out of the booking) for the same cruise and same catagory, if the price goes down you can call Carnival and ask for the lower rate. If you have paid they will issue an on board credit if you are illegible for the discount. There is a price protection form that may be required to send in. It's located on the Carnival web site.

  5. Just returned from the Triumph, room 8391, below the Lido desk. I have no idea why but after midnight there were lot's of noise, sounded like chairs dragging and lots of banging. It's actually carpet right above the room. Maybe coming from the aft pool deck. We booked one of the specials senior deals and Carnival selected our room for us. Now I understand why that one was available.
