  1. Thank you for the Photos, It brought back memories. Is there anyone out there that was on the Fairsea (Sitmar) back in 1988.

We booked In August 1988 under Sitmar (FairSea) but when we received our tickets in Sept. 1988 it was under the name of Fair Princess. We were doing the 28 day Grand Adventure cruise from San Francisco to Sydney, Australia, That was when Princess took over Sitmar.

Is there anyone out there that was on that cruise???

Just looked at my pictures, and I still have our cruise tickets.

What I miss is the Passenger list, being escorted to your cabin. Back then the price from Montreal, QC. Canada was $5,000.00 ea. Cruise Fare, including air from Sydney plus 1 night Hotel in LA. That was for a small inside cabin with bunk beds, there were no balconies then.

We had a great time on that ship. Hope someone remembers that Cruise

  2. Hello

I think one of the best cruises is the 14 day Panama canal, but on that cruise a balcony or mini suite is a must. It has a lot of history. The Caribbean is also nice. Everyone has a different opinion, it depends on what you are interested in seeing.....Happy cruising

  3. I hope someone answers you soon, as It's also been 5 years for me as well and I would be very interested in finding out the changes.

My last cruise was on the Grand Princess with my late Husband, I have not been on a cruise since, due to Health problems, but hopefully I will be able to go on one soon.

  4. Thank you for your prompt reply. Will have my TA look into this. We are #5 on the wait list for the Hyatt in Long Beach with Princess. I would prefer to stay close to the port, so there is no hassle the day of embarkation.

This will be my sister-in-law's first cruise with princess, but it will be my 26th, and this is the first time that I will be cruising without my late husband.

    Thank you again.

  5. We (my sister-in-law) and myself, are on the Island Princess on Feb. 4th, and will be staying at Marriott LAX one night before the cruise, and we will need transportation to San Pedro, can anyone advise me the best way to get to the port. We are both Seniors. We do have a travel agent, and we are on a wait list with princess for a hotel with transfers. But I am nervous about waiting for an answer from princess. I realize it's a bit early to ask this, but I am an early bird, and like to know ahead of time.

    Can anyone help??

  6. When are these changes taking place. I am booked on the February 4th cruise, hope the changes will not be done by then. I have not been on the Island, but I have been on Coral. I know my way around, the Coral (sister ship)

    Thanks for any further information.

  7. Thank you everyone, for all your information.

I am elite, and I did request it about 3 weeks ago. Maybe it takes longer in Canada. I am Canadian and anything I get from Princess seems to take a long time. Hope I get it soon, My Sister-in-law and I are hoping to take a cruise, but the one we want seems to be all booked up for 2015.,

  8. My first cruise with princess, was in October 1988, on the Fair Princess, from San Francisco to Sydney. Have done several Panama Canal cruises plus the Caribbean. Does anyone remember which year that Capatin Philip Pickford, was Capatin on the Coral? I have a picture with him at the Capatin Circle reception but no year. This would be helpful.

I have 25 cruises, with princess, last one being 2010, unsure when the next one will be.

  9. You brought back a lot of good memories, so I took out my Photo Album, we had booked under Sitmar Fairsea, but when we boarded it was under Fair Princess.

Does anyone remember the South Pacific Grand Adventure (28 days) from San Franciso to Sydney, Austrailia in Oct. 1988? When we had a plumbing and air conditioner Problem, and Princess put us in a hotel in Papeete for 2 nights.

In those days you were escorted to you cabin by a steward wearing white gloves, you also had a wine steward and a masquerade night party.

Wish those days were back, I could go on and on.

Even though we had a problem, we still had a great time. I find today the ships are to big.

Captain in 1988 was Nicola Di Stefano

    Cruise Director - Janet Edwards

Hope there is someone who remembers this Cruise

  10. Yes I remeber that, it was fun. My late Husband, had 2 T shirts and 2 ball caps. Yes they should bring it back. After they stopped it if you wore one on a cruise people would ask where you got it. It was fun trying to see who could get the gifts first.
