They never had them on the same day, each day is themed. So you will have Caribbean, French and italian on different days.

I know that, I was talking about having “comfort food” and Italian food, for example, on the same day. I know they didn’t have all those cuisines on the same day.

  2. We were on the Conquest in July and noticed that the entire lunch buffet menu had been changed. Before, you’d have the Comfort foods section (chicken tenders, potato wedges, etc.) as well as the theme section (Italian, Caribbean, French). Now it’s just the same foods at all buffet stations and it’s completely different food. No chicken tenders on the Lido deck all week.

  3. If you are able to get a Havana room, I’d say Vista or Horizon. If not, I’d choose Breeze. I’ve been on the Vista and Breeze, and the only thing that’s better on the Vista is the Havana area.

  4. We were in the Havana area on the Vista in July and loved it! I wouldn’t want to sail on that class of ship without having a Havana room. It was never crowded, there were always seats available, and there were a few times we had the pool or a hot tub all to ourselves.

The bartenders we had were great. There were usually two working and we never had a long wait for drinks. There are no servers walking around taking drink orders, so you do have to go to the bar. But on our last few cruises we hardly saw any servers on the Lido deck either.

  5. Can you tell me how many closets did it have, and also is the Havana bar area busy? Thinking we could sit outside and read in some of those little nooks, but that wouldn't work if it was busy all the time.

The room had two closets-one with shelves and one with hangers. It had less closet space than rooms on other ships, but also had its own air conditioner so no more hot and stuffy room!

The Havana bar was pretty quiet during the day. There are plenty of areas to sit and relax with a book. Don’t plan on it during the evening-the bar area got very busy most nights with music and dancing!

  6. We stayed in 5208 on the Vista in July. We have been booking interiors lately because we found we rarely use the balcony, and need to finds to support our bi-monthly trips to Vegas.

We had a sideways room on the Breeze which was spacious and we loved the layout. The room on the Vista was a little smaller and did feel cramped at times. But I do prefer this layout over the traditional interior.

Pretty sure the TV swiveled and we had no problems watching it from the bed. The room had everything we needed, and we definitely enjoyed the Havana area. We didn’t miss having a balcony when the Havana area was where we wanted to hang out anyway!

Although the room was a little small, I would definitely book it again.

  7. We were in a Havana interior-5208-in July. Loved it. It was very quiet and we couldn’t hear any noise from the Havana bar in our room.

As for the Havana cabanas, the only people who have access to the walkway outside the cabanas are other Havana guests (at least until 7 pm). We walked past the cabanas once to see how they looked, and we were the only ones over there.

  8. We have had a spa room on the Breeze twice and loved it! Our room was on the 12th floor and it was usually pretty quiet on that floor. We enjoyed being close to the Lido deck when we wanted to hang out there. I loved the spa! A couple times it was crowded-meaning we had to share the huge thalassotherapy pool with 3 or 4 other people!

The steam rooms were never busy at all, but the Tepidarium (the coolest temperature-wise) was always pretty busy. I like the warmer rooms so it never bothered me.

The showers in the actual spa are open, so not good for taking an actual shower. I never went to the showers in the gym because our room was so close, so there was no need to use them.

Wear your swimsuit, and the robe and slippers from your room. The spa has towels both at the entrance and in the pool area.

Enjoy! The Breeze is my favorite ship!

  9. We were on the Vista in July.

Things we loved: Havana area (this is the only reason we would book this ship again), Seafood Shack, IMAX Theater

Things we didn’t love: the main theater seating is crowded and sight lines are pretty bad, the line up for the comedy club, no late night comedy because the Limelight Lounge doubles as the nightclub, the atrium is meh.

We enjoyed our cruise, but I would not book this ship again unless I found a good deal on a Havana room.

  10. The Havana area is the best! We sailed in July, and there were definitely people using the area, but we always got a chair and there was plenty of room in the pool and hot tubs. We met a lot of awesome people back there and basically never felt the need to go up to Lido unless it was to get something to eat. When we sailed, the staff did a great job of keeping non-Havana people out.

We also had an inside room, and never missed having a balcony because we had access to such a great space in the Havana area.

  11. We've done one long cruise (12 days) and one b2b (8 day and 6 day). I definitely prefer the long cruise. On the b2b, everything repeated-shows, movies, comedians, trivia. The CD's jokes were all the same. The friends we made on the first cruise were gone the second week. Turn-around day was a long process of waiting in the Library Bar for everyone else to get off the ship. The ports were different which was nice, and we did have the ship to ourselves for a good couple of hours because they were working on the elevators and weren't letting new guests on. We also got champagne when we boarded the second time, a picture with fellow b2b guests, and a fruit basket in our room. That was nice.

On our 12 day cruise, we had new things to do every day and night. We made a lot of friends and hung out with them most nights. We didn't have to get off and get back on, which isn't difficult, but it can take a while. I would prefer longer cruises, or like someone else suggested, going on a different ship for the second cruise.

  12. Congrats! How exciting! We also went on a cruise for our honeymoon. It was a 7 day cruise with 3 sea days, 2 of which were in a row. To be honest, it was our least favorite cruise. I am not a fan of down time, and this was before Carnival had cool water slides and a ropes course, and I hated the crowds at the pool. We spent a lot of time on our balcony, thank god we had one!

8 cruises later, and I love sea days! But now I know what the options are on a ship, and that I'm not missing anything if I choose to relax on the balcony!

I would definitely book a balcony for a honeymoon. I've never had a suite but I personally don't think it's worth the extra money. Plus it gives you a private outdoor space if you're like me and totally unprepared for the lido deck madness. By the way, I have grown to love the lido deck and now spend all my sea days there!

My 2 favorite Caribbean cruises are the 7 day western (Grand Cayman, Belize, Roatan, Cozumel) and the 8 day Southern (Grand Turk, La Romana, Aruba, Curaçao). Both offer a good mix of adventure and relaxation without much shopping (I personally hate shopping). In fact, we're booked on the Southern for the third time!

  13. Thanks for writing this! Glad you had a good time. And thank you for refreshing my memory about the Clue game! Someone asked a question about Clue and I was so excited to hear that they have this...but now I remember that I did play it once. And stopped midway through once I figured out that I had to go to Bingo to get the next clue lol!
