It also makes a difference when another huge (4000+) passenger ship is disembarking when you are. Suggest you check the port schedule and plan accordingly.

Yes. Thanks. Grandeur is only ship listed on the schedule and I believe we go through customs in Portland so I am looking for to an uncomplicated disembark

We left the ship around 7:45am (on a Sunday), and our train was at 9:00am.  It was a little bit of a walk from the ship through the terminal to the street.  Arrived at the station by 8:05 am.  Two people with 1 large roller, 2 small rollers, 2 backpacks, and a handbag.

    Thanks

I just made a reservation at Trulucks ( Miami) for an early dinner ( 4 0'clock)  the night before our cruise. The web site says the dress is upscale. Will my DH require a jacket and tie? We will be staying at the Intercontinental will the restaurant be a comfortable walking distance ?

When we stayed at the Intercontinental last year we took an Uber to Trulucks.  We would not walk it, but it was dark when we went.

Always worth asking at Reception whether any ship tours (bridge, galley, theatre, star gazing etc) are being offered during the cruise; they are not always advertised.

We have experienced some interesting tours in the past but security issues then covid have curtailed the opportunities.

Agree.  We have done the Galley tour twice.  I  think it was connected to AMEX  It was really interesting!!!

The shower placement is not the problem. It’s just very tight opposite the sinks.
The privacy issue relates to the toilet. On the Splendor, when you are on the john and don’t close the bathroom door… not very private. Explorer had a separate door to the john.
Glad you have no issues. I like my privacy when sitting on my throne!

  6. On our last cruise on Splendor just before everything canceled we requested a table in a certain area of the dining room. We really liked the waiter and told Jorge after dinner

There after we were always seated in his area

Looking forward to being back on board on February 3 and seeing Jorge and others again!

The knife skills class was not demonstration.

The classes at the moment on the Explorer - I don't know about Splendor - are demonstration and as I understand, there is no charge.

Hopefully this changes by February. These classes are so much fun, whatever your cooking skill level

I just spoke with Regent and found out from their Hotel Dept. that only rooms from concierge and below have been assigned to the Conrad Hotel. There has been no determination of hotel assignment for Penthouse and above as of this moment. They are working on it.

Also of interest is the fact that if you choose to make your own hotel arrangements you will receive a credit of $150.00 per person which includes transfer from airport to hotel. In checking the Intercontinental Hotel room rates begin in excess of $400.00 per night. Transfers on your own. Just something to think about.

Glad we booked our room at the Intercontinental a while ago.  We are paying much less than that for the Bayfront view.

If you need to book your own room check out the Intercontinental Hotel. Great location and a short ride over to the port . Great Italian restaurant next door right on the bay. You can see the port from the hotel.

We are staying there before our cruise in February.

We also took the credit for hotel and air.

Used miles for 1st class air to Miami and booked 2 nights at the Intercontinental.  Glad to see your reference  as we have not stayed there before. Enough left over from credit for breakfast too. Please share the name of the restaurant.

We were on the last cruise through the Panama Canal on Splendor in 2020 and can't wait to board her again on February 3.
