I will start with the cruise line, Princess. Thank you.

Looking at a New England cruise that start in Quebec City and ends in Boston. The stop before Boston is Portland, Maine. I would like to leave the cruise there and stay with family. Is this possible? If so I assume I would arrange this with ship ahead of time? Thank you.

Within walking distance of the port the Standard Baking Co has wonderful breads, croissants, cookies & brownies. Also close by the ferry over to Peaks for a walk around or golf cart rental.
If you are not into any physical activity you could just eat & drink your way through Portland, it's that good.

As much time I spent searching that web site I do not know how I missed that. Thank you so much for the help. Greatly appreciated.

If I book a Princess hotel precruise does it include transfer from airport to the hotel and transfer to the ship for the cruise? Thank you.

We had a very nice stay at the Inn at the Market. Great location, nice rooms and friendly staff who could not do enough for us. I was worried about possible noise....there wasn't any.

Another shout out for Alla. They arranged a guide/driver for my 2 days in St. Petersburg. Worked with me for a 2 day tour for
my mother who had limited walking capabilities. They were a pleasure to plan and tour with. Will be using them again next year for another visit to St. Petersburg.

Not on the Maasdam.

Sitka because it still looks like an Alaskan town not full of tourists. Places I enjoyed in no particular order: Sheldon Jackson Museum (first visit on ship tour, not nearly enough time, plan to return on next years trip) Raptor Center (very good presentation on raptors) Fortress of the Bear (a little depressing at first until you find out the alternative for the cubs....death. Will return ) Sitka National Historical Park (easy walk along the harbour path and GREAT totems)
St. Michael's Cathedral (worth the donation; beautiful icons)
If you like walking you could combine Sheldon Jackson & the National Park along with the Russian Bishop's House (I have not visited this, on next years list) . Enjoy your visit!

I had a Karmann Ghia and I like James Bond

The store/gallery is SOHO COHO and the artist is Ray Troll. The store carries a large assortment of different items featuring his original art.
Another good gift item is Glacier Smoothie soap that can be found in Juneau. The small shop is located on Franklin St. near the ships. They will ship your items for a fee. They carry soaps and creams and other items made with glacier silt. My uncle loves the shaving soap.

Thank you so much, exactly what I was looking for. The Mary Lou tour in Hilo was on the top of my list. Private Tours Hawaii looks like a great fit. I was shocked that the "handicapped" tours were already sold out for a November cruise. After thinking about it, seeing how helpful crew have been on past trips (mostly Holland) I should not have been surprised. For Mom, it has been a good way to travel. Thank you again for sharing and hope all goes well for your plans. Denise

Doing that now. I was hoping for recommendations from board members as they had been such good choices in the past. Thank you

I read the thread over. Roberts did not have anything but a small bus for us. Mom isn't interested in a luau (done enough of them) or a helicopter. I will check out Mary Lou. Thank you for your help,

My mother & I are booked on a Princess cruise to Hawaii in November of 2017. She uses a rollator and has great difficulty with tour bus stairs. All of the "wheelchair accessible" tours are sold out, have only 1 seat left or involve flying. Princess does not appear to have the "Car & Driver" option that we usually use on Holland cruises.
I have never been to Hawaii and am not at all familiar with the islands.
I am looking for private tours for: Hilo, Honolulu, Kauai and Maui. I have found some onTrip Advisor but have had such good luck with past recommendations from this board that I figured I'd give it a shot. Thank you in advance. Denise

So glad I saw this thread...I forgot I had a card! Purchased in 2009 or 2010. It looks like a playing card and may have a green dragon on it? Going to dig it out for my upcoming Hawaii cruise. Thank you all for the updated information.

Glacier Smoothie soap in Juneau. Bought lots and had them ship it home for me. Mammoth ivory earrings, always a conversation starter. Soho Coho near Creek street in Ketchikan has Ray Troll T-shirts, magnets, cards etc. My sons like his art. I have picked up many signed prints & matted photographs that I have framed and given as gifts (and kept for myself).

Excellent service & experience with Glacier Wind.

Had an excellent post cruise stay at the US Grant. Great location, excellent staff and very nice room. It is not a modern style hotel . Would stay here again.

Glacier Smoothie silt soap from Juneau. The shop is close to the dock. The soap is very nice. If you buy a lot I would ship it home, it gets heavy. You can check them out at glaciersmoothie.com One of my most popular gifts!

I did the Alcatraz Night Tour and I would highly recommend it. I booked it several months ahead of our cruise on http://www.alcatrazcruises.com The day I boarded the tickets were sold out several days in advance. The visit was one of the highlights of the cruise!

The 14 day roundtrip Seattle on the Holland American Amsterdam. It's a midsize ship, very relaxing and a good taste of Alaska (the coast anyway).
-
If Alcatraz is your thing get the tickets on line AHEAD. I did the night tour, it was very good. When I arrived the sign indicated NO tours were available for several days (sold out).

We had a very nice post cruise stay at the US Grant Hotel. The hoho trolley has a stop at the Horton Plaza very close to the hotel. Lots of places to eat & drink in the area. Was not sure if you were looking for a place to spend some time precruise or just lay your head until the next day.

That was my backup, plan B. I think there is a train that will take me to Saco which is closer to where I want to be. Thank you for the heads up.
