If my flight to Amsterdam leaves FCO at 1pm, will getting a car service to pick us up at 9am from the Jewel give us plenty of time to get to the airport?

We will be staying in Paris for a few days after our Greek Cruise and are looking at booking an apartment. Any suggestions on where to stay, what area to stay in?

So is a pick-up time of 10am on disembarkment from Rome too later? I'm sure they can't kick us off the ship since not everyone disembarks that day, but I wonder about our luggage sitting in the port tent area whether it will be safe.

Do you remember seeing what day the bag of laundry special was? Our cruise is the middle of our vacation so it would be great if we could get some clothes cleaned earlier in our cruise.

Also, how busy was it around the pools on the sea day? Did you notice long lines for the waterslides (my 2 kids are curious about that)?

We are arriving in Naples for a day on a cruise in July and have a car tour planned for the day. One of our stops is Pompeii.

Are there guides available at Pompeii to show use around or should we book one ahead of time? If we can get one there, would you recommend them?

Has anyone done the RIL tour of Pisa & San Gimignano from the port at Livorno? There will be 4 of us - my wife and 2 kids (14 & 11).

Also, is it best to go on our own or save a few dollars and find others to share a minibus? Will RIL find another party to group us up with or is it our own responsibility?

Thanks for your responses and I figured getting to Rome on the Tuesday was the way to go.

We are from Canada and the first part of our vacation is in England. I'm trying to maximium my time in London before getting to Rome. We have a few days after the cruise in Rome before heading back over the ocean so I'm not worried about seeing Rome before we cruise.

Any hotel suggestions near the airport, especially if we end up arriving late at night.

My family's NCL cruise starts on Wed, July 1, leaving from Civitavecchia. We will be flying in from London to Rome (most likely flying into FCO). I have few flight options; either arriving Tuesday night (e.g. 11pm) or Wednesday early afternoon (e.g. 1pm).

Any suggestions on when you think I should arrive would be appreciated. Also, if you suggest I get there on Tuesday night, would it be best to stay at a hotel near the airport and then go to the port the next morning?
