  1. We just got off the Carnival Magic on a 12 day cruise and really enjoyed our cove balcony. It was very private while at sea. A few times when we were docked on our side of the ship, we lost some privacy as were were only up 2 levels from the dock- but we usually weren't in the room much then anyways. The regular balcony esp on deck 6 & 7 look right down on the lanai deck 5 & could be noisy & not much privacy. Our friends were in the next cabin(not adjoining rooms) and they opened the door separating our decks which was great. They do say that they close the cove balconies completely if the ocean is rough but we had very good weather the whole time. It's nice to be close to the water- we saw a few dolphins. It is best to book a cove cabin in the front half of the the ship as the galley is right over the cove balcony rooms in the back half of the the ship- it can be noisy during the night and early morning when they are working and cleaning in the kitchen- some friends had great difficulty with this noise at night. The price is great for the cove balcony and we highly rec.
