I just got off the Splendor. There isn't a Guys burger place on this ship yet. There is a steakhouse which has a $35 surcharge per person but it is very well worth it.
Current CD is Kevin Donahoe. I don't think he'll be there in June though. I'm pretty sure he said he only had a few cruises left.
Yes you will most definitely stay busy on the sea days!
Food...that's an individual opinion. I thought the food was delicious but I've seen plenty of reviews where people said the quality has decreased a ton. I really enjoyed the shows.

I'd definitely recommend flying in the day before. Old San Juan is a beautiful place to visit! You'll enjoy the extra time there. When we cruised out of San Juan, we stayed at a hostel near the port. It's called Posada San Francisco (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g147320-d1902834-Reviews-Posada_San_Francisco_Old_San_Juan-San_Juan_Puerto_Rico.html). We LOVED it. It was 50-60 dollars a night. We had to walk to get breakfast but the stay was very homey. They do have a kitchenette if you want to bring your own food. We took a taxi from the airport to the hostel. The one downfall was the hostel wasn't well marked. I recognized the building from the pictures on trip advisor.

Pack your bags. Take out half of the clothes. Take a look at your cash stash. Double that.

Check out this website

If it doesn't work, you can google 'spring break calendar 2015'

Yes, the airport beach is called Maho Beach. Google for some neat pictures and videos! It's SO much fun. There is a bar at one end, and your friend could hang out in there. I didn't think it was too loud, just very strong winds to be mindful of. Gotta hold on to lightweight items, otherwise they'll fly away.
-
I'm guessing you can pop into one of them, especially if the driver is outside saying "taxi" then sure, you can use that one. They're usually all bunched up outside as they know a ship just got arrived, and it's a great way to make some cash.

If it's anything like our first Carnival cruise, the connection to carnival.com is free. It's slow, but you can keep in contact with family and friends not on the ship via the forums.

Can anyone tell me when Victory was last in drydock or is scheduled. Just trying to plan next cruise and wondering about Victory. Thanks
-
Why not?
On land, some people prefer to order their main meal after their appetizer is brought out, so their main meal isn't brought out while they're trying to finish the appetizer.
-
Is there a cost to order? We will have an 18th birthday on our trip.
The 6 inch cake costs 10 dollars and is well worth it.
I agree! It is very well worth it! I thought it was quite a bit of cake for only 10 dollars. We shared with our table (4 people total) and still had leftovers for a few days. It's super delicious too!

We are 99% sure we are going to book a very last minute cruise for this upcoming Sunday. I cannot find my birth certificate. I have my passport in my maiden name, and marriage certificate. I also have an enhanced license. Are these documents okay or should we not book? Thanks!
I don't know much about enhanced licenses as my state doesn't offer them. But you could always book in your maiden name (to match your passport)

Do you know if they have published any more pics of this situation?

You also can check it out by looking at your subscribed threads. Click Quick Links, then click Subscribed Threads and it'll bring up a list of all the threads that you subscribed to (which is probably each thread you've made a comment in)

I don't carry my phone around the ship but I love that nifty little tear part of the fun times to carry around.
Agreed! Even though I do have a smart phone (where not everyone does!), I don't have it turned on during the cruise to avoid charges AND so I can be left alone, because I am on vacation!

Thanks for the review! I'll be sailing on her next May. I have a few questions about the catamaran..was it a Carnival excursion or did you book independently? How much was it? Did they serve food/alcohol? Just curious!

Yes it is noisy on low aft decks. Thrusters, engines and vibrations. Sometimes it is not just getting into and out of ports. If there is wave action the stabilizers get used too.
Yes, it was a vibration "noise" more than anything that I noticed. Hard to describe, but you could tell things were shaking. I didn't feel anything per se, but it sounded like things were vibrating near by.
-
Oh gosh! Yea, that's not too bad at all. Thank you! Can't wait to meet you :)
-
We were in an aft room on riveria (I think), it was the first floor. It was noisy in the AM. We were in a new port each morning on our Southern Caribbean cruise, so I'm guessing each time we pulled into port, we heard the engines. DH slept through it, but it woke me up. Honestly, it wasn't that bad though. If you booked Early Saver, it'll cost you (I think!) $50 per person to switch rooms.

I could probably google, but I think you guys/gals know a little more :)
How far is the terminal from the airport? How long with traffic?
-
Oh, that's PLENTY of time. Norfolk is my home port. I live about 15 min from there. I would even do an 11AM one.
Perfect! I'm just a worry wort when it comes to flights same day. Last cruise we spent an extra day in San Juan before flying home.
Btw, we're on the same cruise :D I recognize your user name from our roll call :p
-
Is a 3:30p airplane departure late enough via taxi? We'll be getting off Spendor in Norfolk next May.
What's the earliest flight that would be in your comfort zone?
-
If you're not a heavy drinker, it's just not worth it, especially if you start drinking JUST to make it worth it.
We still smuggle, but if we got caught, we'd move to step 2, and buy some bon voyage liquor.
How do you smuggle? I've read a ton on here, but just curious what your personal smuggling technique is?

It took up until day 19 for me on the Splendor to get a price drop.
What do you mean 'day 19?' I keep looking for price drops on Splendor as well and the prices keep going up.

If the cruise is paid in full, anytime you want
That's so crazy to me! Hard to believe I can check in nine months in advance! Thanks for the info though :)
What happened to Wendy on the Victory May 6?

She went overboard :( News said cameras saw her fall off from the 10th level.
