  1. Everyone should be proud - you all did so well! 2lbs all the way up to 17lbs!! WOW. Congratulations to all. Deanna - just glad you are feeling better. I know with your illness it's hard for you to stay in balance. Good job!

    And Happy birthday Marsha!

Oh - and again I stayed the same. I think I'm just meant to weigh this much. But at least it's 85lbs less than I was 4 years ago. Praise the Lord!

San Diego is beautiful. We are enjoying it. See you all here in a week.

    Betsy

  2. Haven't lost or gained in a few weeks now. Since we left our summer "home" in Yellowstone I don't have the Rangers gym to use anymore  The elliptical is my exercise of choice as I can't walk fast enough to do any good (partly paralyzed foot). But oh well--- since I'm not buying anymore clothes the ones I have fit so I guess it's good to stay at the same weight. PLUS - since we are slowly headed toward San Diego I already feel like the cruise has begun & I'm sorta enjoying my evening cocktails already :)

I love hearing how ya'll are doing & the info on where you eat & when is great. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Down 1 more lb this week :) TOTAL = 8.

And I used to gain about 10 lbs on a cruise but since I got my Lapband it prevents me from overeating so I don't gain anymore. So I still order lots of different things at meals but usually not any bread, rice, pasta or potatoes (they don't slide down very well) and then I am forced to only eat small amounts of the entree and the desserts. But at least I get to try everything! ALSO - on our last cruise I tried to explain to our waiter that I have a medical condition that forces me to eat small servings & could he just bring me 1/2 servings so as not to waste food. He said they couldn't do that! It would be easier to throw the rest away than to try to not serve it in the first place???? I wonder if children get smaller servings???

  4. I agree. We all have our goals over here on this forum and I love the sharing and support. Good job everybody. I also don't want to diet while onboard but my Lapland will force me to limit amounts. So I get my hubby to order 3 desserts and I get to taste a bite of each of them! He may waddle off at disembarkation but I'll be happy and still love him! Also I will exercise if I can fit it in. I find an hour in the gym helps rid me of all the alcohol toxins I built up the day before and refreshes me to start again so bring on the Drink of the Day!

  5. I stayed the same this week. But it's July 1st so I'm taking it as a new start for me. Plus I usually do cardio 3x a week for 60 mins at a time but I've been thinking more and more about the interval training they say is better for fat loss. So I've started 35 mins of cardio 3x a week with strenuous intervals in it. I still do my reg arm wrists 3x a week too. We'll see how this works. If I get better results with less time invested I'll be surprised.

  6. Ok. Folks seem to be getting into this forum. I like that! So this is my story. I was morbidly obese for years. Close to 300 lbs but never quite hit that weight. I tried every diet imaginable. Lost weight. But gained more back every time. I finally got frightened enough to seek serious medical help. Although all of the Drs and weight loss therapists I had seen previously seemed serious enough to me. I was working as an RN in the local hospital. I'm pretty scientific. I thought of myself as rather intelligent. And I was frustrated as heck over the fact that this one ISSUE in my life was impossible for me to figure out. So I went to a Bariatric Surgeon. I was not going to have a gastric bypass bc I have taken care of those surgical patients and I just didn't want to go that route. I decided on a Lapland. I had mine placed in sept 2008. I have lost almost 100 lbs. Over the last year I think I've hit my "stable weight". I'm happy with my progress and I guess I look OK. MY Drs and my hubby are extremely happy. But I still border on being obese. Better than morbidly obese but I'd like to lose 15 more lbs. I eat like a "Bandster". High protein. A few veggies. No salad - it gets stuck. And hardly ever any pasta bread rice or potatoes. I can only eat a cup or so of food at a time. None of that bothers me. I work out 3-4 times a week on an elliptical for 60 mins and do weight machines for my arms. BUT I love my wine. Anyway I've rambled enough. I joined L2C to see if I can shed this stubborn last 15 lbs. if I do then great. Bit if not I'm still OK. But I enjoy hearing all of your stories. Good luck to all!
