  1. You're on "vacation" right now and your worry/concern is how much the cabin steward is earning......ok.

On my cruises I've noticed crew with braces on their teeth, the new iPhone watches.....I think they're doing fine. This is 2016, we choose our career paths. However, if the service that I receive warrants extra in tips, I will tip extra.

  2. I've been in a restroom stall and heard a person come out the stall and exit the restroom without washing their hands. I've seen people just walk out without washing also. Now, I wonder if those people NEVER use the hand sanitizer because it gives them a false sense of security? Carnival spends thousands on hand sanitizer just to give its cruisers a false sense of security? Ok

  3. Yep I don't fault anyone for over paying to have an all inclusive, it's like going to a beaches resort when you know you don't drink much. You are paying for the alcohol even though you won't be drinking much of it (which is why I don't go to the all inclusive resorts). If that's what works best for your vacation go for it. I'd rather toss $100-$200 on the sign and sail before the cruise to cover that beer and wine every day so it's prepaid, then get back any that's left over but whatever works.

Exactly! My plan is to put $500 on a gift card for my drinks. My SO doesn't drink much, maybe 3 glasses of wine on an 7-8 day cruise. Cheers for 2 would cost us $919.08 for the 8 days. That's like giving away $400! I like the specialty coffees so I can't wait to see if I reach my $500 allotment. However to each it's own, JUST HAVE FUN!!

  4. I informed my TA of what you guys posted and now my gift cards have been applied to my account.

Just to answer some questions: Carnival will NOT have anything to do with your booking if you used a TA.

I have NEVER received an OBC from my TA which is why I stopped using him for years. He claims his rates are already low. Which they were for this particular cruise. I usually book through Carnival.com early saver and watch for price drops. It's actually kinda fun watching your OBC grow!

  5. My bed configuration has never been correct! I always have to hunt the steward down or call house keeping. They usually say, "we'll change it while your at dinner." They don't......so I call again with a little anger in my voice then it's changed to a king. They usually try to have me wait until the next day. NO! I've also gotten the confused are you sure question. I would once love to slowly open my cabin door to see our bed as I requested it KING!

  6. December 2014 was my second time on the Splendor. Out of 9 cruises that was the worst of them all. The crew were like robots just going through the motions. Other passengers also felt that there werent enough activities and when there were planned activities the crew was always late getting to them but they would end them on time. My cabin was nasty on embarkation day, the steward admitted to not cleaning it properly because he had so many cabins that day to clean. It felt like the crew needed a vacation:cool:

  7. I have searched everywhere for an answer. So I'll ask here on the forum.

My next October cruise, I will have 70 days at the start of it. It's an 8 day cruise. At the end of it I will have 78 days. Will I be cruising Platinum at the start of my October cruise or will I have to wait until the next cruise? Also are there any booking discounts at Platinum?
