With the Princess former sales Slogan of "Escape Completely", can they request their cruise fare back as this did not happen (would be significant for a world cruise), and because they were "caught completely".
As a Canadian, I'm allowed to make a joke about it. Three less people in Canada for a while, enjoying Aussie hospitality I am sure.

Just did this last fall - 10 day FLL-FLL Panama Canal cruise. Got off the afternoon of day 8 in Jamaica, and went to an all-inclusive for a week, and flew back from Montego Bay.
Had to get permission from Princess first (very quick), double checked when got on the ship they had us disembarking in Jamaica (itinerary showed this), then go to the customs/immigration port clearing session on the day after we docked (in wedding chapel, an interesting process to see "clearance"), where Jamaican immigration was, and get our paperwork processed and stamped. Several other passengers were getting off, plus some crew and entertainers. We had all day to get off, just had to be off before the ship departed. Princess helped us take our luggage off, and the gangway had a list of permanently disembarking passengers and cross us off.
Handed the paperwork to the customs person on the dock, and off to the all-inclusive.
In short, as long as it does not violate any cabotage (sp?) laws (PVSA, etc.) , and you get permission from Princess (who gets permission from the country I assume), have the right visas/passports, then all should be good.
After we got permission (well ahead of leaving!), it showed on our cruise personalizer as disembark in Jamaica, and only a 8 day cruise (autotips were only for 8 days).

On planes, it is "board", so what's the opposite - "deboard","deplane", "disboard", or "get the *^%# off the plane so we can get the next group of cattle on"?

Princess should have a selection of the Alaska Brewing Company (the Juneau brewery) on board during their Alaska Season. Had it before on Princess Alaska cruises.

I second the Skagway Brewing Company - towards the end of the main street, on the right as you walk up just past Wells Fargo bank (not far to walk).
Was there this past Tuesday and enjoyed their Spruce Tip and Porter (darker) beers. Or try their samplers as pictured above.
They also have a Stout and IPA that I've tried on a previous tip after doing the bike descent from the summit (good that I did it in that order!).

FYI, a full passport is required by any shore excursion in Skagway that crosses the US - Canada border (see excursion descriptions as there are some special cases such as train trips where you don't get off). No passport will prevent going on some of these excursions.

It's suggested that anyone entering Canada get immunizations against catching Justin Bieber Fever (just kidding). Anyone over age 25 is immune to the fever

On a December 2009 cruise, we had two pub lunches. Desert one day was "Bread and Butter Pudding", and the other day was "Triffle", both traditional English deserts.

It's called Ogden Point, and is well marked on Google Earth and other mapping sites. (It's the docks just north of the large breakwater).
A few blocks to walk, or a short taxi ride into the heart of downtown.
Coffee Card - Iced Tea

Unless it's changed, the FREE ICE TEA at the HC and dining rooms is unsweetened, which I prefer. You can always add sugar. When they serve it in the Dining rooms, they often provide sugar packets for you to add.
