  1. I have some friends who did a 4 days on this ship about a year ago and they were very pleased. they did have a balcony room on a higher deck as that is what they prefer despite the cost. they had no complaints about the food or service. Don't let other people's complaints make you negative before you start. some people are never happy, no matter how good things are!! Enjoy your cruise

  2. You'll get a daily bulletin in your room everyday that will give you the times and locations of everything that's happening on the ship. You can decide from that when to schedule meals if you are on My Time dining. If you are at an assigned table, you'll probably be able to go directly from dinner to the theater for the early show. If you eat late in some instances the you can see the show before dinner. We have been on some crusies where they did the show twice, or had more than one entertainment in the evening so the late dinner crwod could be entertained later at night.

Enjoy your first cruise. You'll be hooked when you get off!!!

  3. Some of the people here must have never had my experience...which has happened at least on 3 occasions.

I set my flatware with napkin down, along with my juice and coffee. I then go back to get my breakfast. When I get back, my place has been cleared and there are others sitting there.

When I reverse it, putting my breakfast down and then going to get coffee and juice, (leaving my eggs to get cold) the same thing has happened.

If you are not occupying a seat, any food at the table is considered fair game to get cleared.

I agree! We find the only way to ensure that we keep a table is for one of us to sit there and try to snag a waiter to pour us coffee. Then let the other one go and get the food. I usually have my husband sit and I get his food etc. Then go back for mine while eats starts, so his isn't cold. I think they should give out numbers, as many restaurants who have counter ordering do, and you could place the number on the table with silverware and napkins. When you get your food and finish, the number could be returned to a designated place at the entrance to used again. Sure someone could move the number, but it would be more obvious than just clearing plates.

  4. I am also new to this site, but I agree with you. My husband and I are both 75 and came to cruising late in life after being campers for years and years. Now we're addicted!! Headed out for our 12th trip to the Southern Caribbean in Feb 2015. We booked an aft cabin. Did a short one on Constellation this past January with a group of younger friends. We love sharing travel notes, but not health problems while on board!!!

  5. We've had aft cabins twice before and just booked another for Feb 1, 2014 on Eclipse. The size of the balcony is marvelous. Big enough for two lounges, two chairs and a table, and they are deep enough to be sheltered from the wind and still have the marvelous view.A sunset from the back of the ship or leaving a port with the ability to see three sides at once is a memory you never forget!!!
