  1. I recommend making your reservations well ahead of your cruise.  We waited until onboard and found the task more difficult.  Having said that, 5:30 is not a super busy time and you would be able to “walk up” most nights without a reservation and no waiting.

Soleil Dining Room has a good location;  Estrella is also good but you might find yourself walking through the Casino to get to and from it;  Cielo is a little harder to get to because you have to access it from only one staircase from the floor above.  I think our preference was Soleil.

  2. For those that have sailed on Sky Princess… have you found any aha! areas or hidden gems?  For example, on one ship we sailed on, we found one coffee machine that freshly ground the beans for every cup… all other machines were just dispensing pre-brewed.  The freshly ground machine took a few extra seconds and most people avoided it - not us!  Looking for your tips!!

So today, at Mahahual, Mexico / Costa Maya, Mexico I noted the Patter (which isn’t actually labeled “Princess Patter” anywhere anymore, and is now shrunk down to just one single double-sided page) did indicate the Wake View Bar, behind the buffet at the back of the ship, opened at 6:00 AM. Which  helps the early morning drink desires, but I’m confused why today is 6:00 AM, when it’s been 7:00 AM up until now on this cruise. Wonder if it’s possible the Patter just has a mistyped time on it, there’s other bits that are misspelled.

The schedule on the stateroom TVs matches, so either they get times from the same system automatically or it’s not a mistake. Hm…

    Time change??

5 days before a cruise - fell and broke the tibia and fibula near the ankle ... now how bad was that ship and cruise? 🦄

Yikes, I had the same injury a few years back and cannot imagine being on a ship 5 days later!  Just maneuvering the splint would be near impossible!

  5. We sailed Serenede January 2, 2019 and found the majority of the entertainment very good!  Carlos, a singer/guitar player was excellent and filled the venue night after night with boisterous crowds singing along to his tunes!  Voytek, another entertainer, was a master on the guitar!  I wasn't as impressed with the 12 Bar Band, but that was more because they appeared bored most of the time, rather than enjoying their jobs... they were not bad musicians.  I also missed hearing the steel drums playing at Sail Away, but each port had their own musicians playing these drums so we got the flavour of the Caribbean!  Andreas, the cruise director, did not arrive late at any of the activities we attended and seemed to be enjoying himself. There were two different comedians on board and they were both entertaining. We are not interested in the production shows, having been to too many of them over the years... so cannot comment on those.  One other singer, played in Jersey Boys, was well liked by most of the guests... but talked too much about himself for my liking.  All in all, we found the entertainment very good!
