Is it best to purchase the specialty plans before the cruise on the website? Are there better deals onboard?
I have never sailed Celebrity before.

Are you setting the bikes up ahead of time or expecting to see them available when you arrive? Do you already have a tour route in mind?
We have electric bikes booked already and they will meet us at the dock with the bikes. We are not doing a tour, just the bike rental. We wanted to just be free to do as we please all day with the bikes.

I could use these directions, too. We are renting bikes to see the sights.

Thanks for your great information. I think we will pursue the trip to Canterbury. The double decker bus sounds like a great idea.

I was thinking of going to Canterbury during our stop in Dover. My daughter wants to do some shopping and I hear there is not anywhere to shop in Dover. What do you suggest for getting to Canterbury from the Dover Port?

It appears to be close to the port and reasonable prices.

I appreciate all the advise. I have found that I can rent a car for a very reasonable price. We will take the advice and go to the beach and the shopping area. We have the whole day, so any other scenic routes you suggest that wouldn't be too long of a drive.

Hi tacotam, I think Porthdafarch is the nearest beach, but it's only a small bay, Trearddur Bay is the next and a better beach. There may be some surfing there but the best beach for surfing is Rhosneigr. This is a much bigger beach but that's probably about 20-25 minutes from Holyhead. The Coast is beautiful. If I can be of any more help let me know. [emoji4]
Thanks for the information. What would be the best way to get to Rhosneigr? Rent a Car? train? If we rented a car, we could see different sights around the coast.

We will be in Holyhead for a stop in June. We haven't planned anything for that day and I was thinking about just having a relaxing day at a beach. Is there any close to the cruise dock? Are there any Surf spots close by that we could just sit and enjoy watching? My daughter would love spending a day just relaxing and watching some surfing.

Just to share my information. I went on this website listed below and reserved two electric bikes. They will deliver to the dock and the price is only 25 Euros for the entire day. I wanted to tour the island by cycle, but not be attached to a tour guide all day. I am super excited.
Dear Tammie
Thank you for your order, We can deliver the electric cycles to you at the port upon your arrival into Guernsey. We wait for you and hold a board with your name to ensure we are easy to locate.
We will then provide you with your cycles, maps and a small introduction of nice areas to visit.
The total price for 1 day hire for 2 electric cycles is £50, we accept cash or payment by card upon delivery.
We look forward to meeting you and wish you a safe journey to Guernsey.
We include free hire of locks, maps, guide booklets, helmets, and baskets on request if available.
Kind Regards,
Shane

We did a bike tour and saw about half of the island, it was excellent.
Do you remember where you rented the bikes? Was it close to the port?
Were the hills pretty tough? I am thinking of doing the same thing.
Thanks

I was thinking of using a bike rental, but not doing the bike tour. Would it be pretty easy to get to the places of interest with rental bikes. I like bike riding, but my lazy daughter is to fond of it . lol. I was thinking she could get an electric version to simplify her ride. I basically am interested in seeing the underground hospital, the little church and other churches. Also, I saw something about a museum close to the underground hospital that has a Beatles exhibit. My daughter loves anything dealing with the Beatles.
From my understanding, all these places should be easy to get to with bikes. Is this doable? Suggestions or opinions are welcomed. This is our first time to Europe and we don't like group tours because they seem to move too slow and get boring for us.

I have tons of pictures, but here are a few of my favorites.

I got two rooms for $74 each on May 31rst at the Red Lion on 5th Ave. The normal prices are over $200 each. Seems like we got a great deal. I called the hotel just after I booked and they had me booked with King Size beds, but I was able to switch to 2 Queens in each room without a problem.

I am booked for a handicapped accessable room, also. Are the rooms much bigger than normal? I booked a guaranteed room and as of now I am assigned in a handicapped room. I am hoping for an upgrade, but not holding my breath.
