  1. I’m thinking of taking my son to Atlantis . The ship do s trip which is 5 hours , which is fine if you spend most of it there and is cheaper than pass direct or hotel as there are only 2 of us . Anyone done the trip? Any reviews ? Do you get enough time there ?

    Thank you

  2. I haven’t been on many cruises but I always have given the suggested tip and abit extra on top . I’m not a Brit who does not tip in restaurants on land in the US , usually 15to 20% but I now feel almost obliged ( rightly or wrongly ) to tip again on top of the autogratuities and I don’t like this . I know the staff work hard and I want to reward them, I also can see the fairness of autogratuity tips . I’m probably not explaining myself very well , but handing my waiter $10 at the end of a trip would seem mean but maybe that’s all I want / can give !!

  3. I've never really thought I was bothered about what people wear and I don't cruise that often... But on our last cruise, we only met our table mates on formal night . My friend and I were in dresses and I'd made my son wear a shirt and trousers and they turned up in beach gear . I mean really , really casual and rightly or wrongly it just felt odd that we were dressed nicely sitting in a nice environment and they were in beach gear .

Anyway they were nice people and that's all that matters, but it did change my opinion and I feel like now people should follow the dress code . It does not have to be over the top and I know I don't dress as formal as I used to :)

  4. If it was $44 I would definitely go for it but then while it is a saving its $24 plus service over 4 days .. What's is that a couple of drinks which makes me wonder if it's worth just booking now .

I already have refreshment package which I can cancel but I got that for $18 plus fees in sale

Out of the 4 days 2 are excursion days but 1 is at coco cay , am I right in thinking I can use the package here ?

  5. ok currently for my sailing mariner of the seas for 4 nights out of Miami the alcohol package is $50 supposed to be 30% off ( plus service on top )

I'm trying to decide if this is worth it for me ( my decision I know )

I realise that this price could go up or down ( down would be good :D)

If the price never goes down is $50 a good price? What are people generally paying ?

    Decisions .. Decisions ...

  6. Arrive at 1:00 and depart at 8:00. So in theory 7 hours . The ship was cleared a bit late, then they needed to get the tenders running, then you needed to wait for your tender number. I was lucky that we were on tender 8. However once docked, you need to find your way to Oia. We chose the speedboat, but then needed to wait for that boat to fill before departing. Once we docked again, we needed to find the bus to take us up to Oia. Again, we were lucky we made the first bus, but there is no way everyone on that speedboat made it on to that one bus, which means they would need to wait for another. We finally made it up to Oia at 3:15, but then needed to wait in line to reserve our return bus to Fira. Last bus at 5:00, so 7 hours in port =1.45 hours in Oia, and we were lucky. Once in Fira, we had enough time to stop for a few minutes at a gift shop and walk to the cable car line, which was already very long and waited over an hour to get down to the tenders

We are in Santorini 24 th July cruise on Jewel

    Couple of questions

What time should we get in queue to ensure an early tender ticket ?

Do we have to reserve bus back and where do we do it ?

How long does bus take ?

    Thank you

  7. I'm on Jewel in September and am pretty sure that the prepaid meal prices/package has gone up but doesn't look like the drink package or excursions have yet.

I have just purchased on board credit at rate of 1.42 - the same as my last cruise in Feb. But I know this can change so would also suggest buying sooner rather than later.

Hi , how do you buy onboard credit , think I would like to do this if I can . Booked direct with Royal carribean , thanks

  8. I'm on Jewel 24th July .. Again seems to be sold out ... Not looking forward to the pool area on sea days !!! But thanks for info as now know either get up early or lose out . We are in an inside cabin so it would be nice to use a lounger . We will have teens with us paying adult price so I was not sure about the inside pool whether it was paying adults or in age ... Not saying we would use it but might if there were no other loungers available.

  9. Hi can you help me travelling on Jewel of the seas , we dock in Athens at 7am , for a private excursion what time should I say we can meet . I'm not sure how long between docking it takes to get off ship ?

    Thanks

  10. Hi , yes I do intend bringing a couple of bottles onboard but I booked before the drinks package included offer  I tried to get it added but unfortunately in the uk as soon as you pay altering a booking for a different offer means you lose your £300 deposit, as I am travelling with a child it was not worth it as I would have lost my cruise credit aswell. .....not sure buying it as an extra makes economical sense for me.

Soo I love my fizzy wine with meal so just wondered if ordering a couple of bottles would be worth it

  11. If I order wine through gifts

DOMAINE STE. MICHELLE, SPARKLING, BRUT, COLUMBIA VALLEY, WASHINGTON, NV About £23

Is it cheaper this way or the same price onboard , can they keep sparkling wine till the following day if not all used

    Thank you

  12. To be honest he is a bit addicted but normally on holiday there is not the opportunity for him to play .. Think he will be tempted to play more than I would like. He plays at home we are in uk so not sure what Dave and busters is but I never pay for him to play outside of the home. How much play time ( roughly ) woukd 10 dollars get him ... Realise there are lots of variables
