  1. I am going on Queen Mary

my friend is not comfortable finalizing the cruise contract because she would need to provide her credit card to Cunard or our travel agent

she wants to wait until she gets to the port

I am worried it will be delayed to get on board

also she can’t sign up for excursions ahead of time

    we are not rooming together

is it a good idea to sign cruise contract and wait to provide credit card on date of departure at the pier

thanks for any advice that could change her mind

  2. Hi I want to go on a Cunard trip this summer I am unsure if their insurance will cover my concern

    I have 2 potential issues

1.my mom is elderly and lives with me

we have an aid that agrees to cover her 24 day for whole trip but what happens if she can’t or if mom becomes ill

2..My daughter is trying to get pregnant and if she does she may have problems due to her potential high risk problems and may give birth in September but maybe would have earlier births

    cruise goes from 8/25-9/1

sorry I feel like I am over concerned

I would love to go but I want a good insurance and not sure Cunard coverage is that good

  3. I felt relieved at first that we booked air through Cunard 8/11-8/21

we left on American Airlines for London at Heathrow

    getting back was another story

We had British airlines and the policy was no check in for departure nor could we set up seating until 24 hours before

unfortunately their internet was bad and when I contact the British airlines they told me to book at airport

well I finally did that at Heathrow but plane had issues and we were late to Chicago for my connection they put us in a hotel for a flight the next day on United but British Airlines did not release the new tickets and I never had the tickets because they didn’t give it to me

called British airways they said everything was fine but when I got to United they told me They never got the tickets and sent

me to American in another terminal soo American worked it out

i called the Cunard travel assistance but he said he could not help

i am finally home as of Tuesday but it did not flow smoothly as I thought

which is the new travel problems

    I did have a

    wonderful trip

  4. HI

I returned from the 10/31 10 day trip on the Caribbean Princess. It was a very interesting cruise. It did not have a full transit. But the excursion I enjoyed for that day was the Princess Ferry trip from Canal -Atlantic to the Pacific coast -Panama City. The tour guides were excellent and very informative.

If you have the chance make sure you attend the lecture series. We were up at 530 am prior to the transit-it was interesting seeing the other ships waiting in the dark after our ship.

It was recommended to read the book-Path between the seas by David Mccoulaugh which discusses the history.

I also took a tour of the Rain Forest in Costa Rica by an arial tram which was wonderful.

We also toured the old town of Cartegenia ,Columbia

You will have a wonderful time!

  5. The cruise itinerary was great, food was good as was their service. The cruise staff were wonderful as were the deck parties.

I wish we had more time in Cartegna, Columbia.

Sometimes there was a foul smell in the hallways and public bathrooms.

During the 2nd to last sea day we lost electrical power and the ship listed. We had no lights, nor elevator service. The captain kept us informed during the mechanical failure which the engineers fixed. I am not sure if this is due to the issue with the slower speed due to engine issues or this was different.

It was a great cruise other than loss of power-I think they should make sure the ship is in good working condition before sailing again.
