  1. SHIP: Eclipse

    CABIN #: 6101

    DECK #: 6

    CLASS: 2B

    AREA: Starboard Forward

    BED NEAR: Bath

    QUIET?: Mostly

    BALCONY VIEW: Slight obstruction

    BALCONY SIZE: Normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Lots of noise when docking or leaving a port; otherwise very quiet. The obstruction is minimal, at the base of the balcony -- a white ledge that juts out a few feet from the balcony.

  2. SHIP: Equinox

    CABIN #: 6194

    DECK #: 6

    CLASS: 2D

    AREA: midship

    BED NEAR: bath

    QUIET?: yes

BALCONY VIEW: obstructed. One of the larger lifeboats/tenders is directly in front of the balcony. Can't see anything while seated, but views are fine if you're standing at the rail.

    BALCONY SIZE: normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Many seem to shy away from 2D rooms due to the word "obstructed"; however, I'm glad we tried this room. It's not like you can't see the water. You just can't look straight down to see anything.

  3. SHIP: Silhouette

    CABIN #: 6206

    DECK #: 6

    CLASS: 2D

    AREA: starboard, toward front

    BED NEAR: bath

    QUIET?: yes

BALCONY VIEW: view down obstructed by larger lifeboat/tender; lifeboat blocks view out if seated on balcony, but okay if standing at balcony railing

    BALCONY SIZE: normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: would not hesitate to book again, despite being listed as "obstructed view"

  4. Might be worth a call to X to see if you can at least get a better room given what you paid. We just gave in yesterday and paid a little more than we thought we would for a last-minute cruise (after final payment date), and now I'm watching to see if the price drops on a higher category so that I can call to possibly get that. Can't hurt to try...

  5. SHIP: Silhouette

    CABIN #: 8119

    DECK #: 8

    CLASS: 1C Veranda

    AREA: Forward Port Side

    BED NEAR: Bath

    QUIET?: yes

BALCONY VIEW: Nice view, very near bridge (bridge can easily see you on balcony)

    BALCONY SIZE: normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: no problems; quite a walk to dining areas on ship, but relatively close to forward elevators and easy to get to Solarium Pool

  6. Ship - Oasis of the Seas

    Deck - 9

    Stateroom # - 9532

    Stateroom Category - D7

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

    Quiet Stateroom? very quiet room

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? no

    Balcony View - normal, unobstructed

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size

    Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? na

Any specific problems with this cabin? none

Any other comments? This is the farthest forward balcony room on 9 Starboard. The rooms farther forward were oceanview rooms. There was a solid balcony divider between the balcony and the oceanview room next door, so you could not see the front of the ship without leaning over the railing. (Not an issue, but a question we had before sailing that no one at RCI could answer.)

  7. SHIP: Silhouette

    CABIN #: 7292

    DECK #: 7

    CLASS: 1A

    AREA: midship starboard

    BED NEAR: bath

QUIET?: very quiet, even though very close to elevators

BALCONY VIEW: view was toward back of ship; balcony angled back

BALCONY SIZE: only slightly larger than average balcony; added maybe 5 sq. ft. Still a nice sized balcony. No complaints.

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:no problems at all with room. Surprised at how quiet it was. Never heard any hallway noise or noise from other cabins.

  8. SHIP: Silhouette

    CABIN #: 7290

    DECK #: 7

    CLASS: 1A

    AREA: midship starboard

    BED NEAR: balcony

QUIET?: very quiet, even though very close to elevators

BALCONY VIEW: view was toward back of ship; balcony angled back

BALCONY SIZE: at least double the average balcony. Balcony had 2 chairs and small table, but there would have been room for at least twice as much furniture

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:no problems at all with room. Surprised at how quiet it was. Never heard any hallway noise or noise from other cabins. Oversized balcony was a huge plus.
