As this is a European cruise and not the Caribbean, you will encounter a much older group of cruisers with far fewer children. We just got off the Zuiderdam in Rome, and we saw very few children on board for our 12 days, perhaps 20-30 or so. Most of the kids seemed to be under 3-4 years of age although when we toured the ship we would see 2-5 kids in the kids club, and maybe 2-3 playing basketball, and maybe 4-5 in one of the 2 pools. What time of year are you going......during summer vacation you might find more kids......

I would like to know if anyone has an update for us ? I'm thinking the first voyage out from drydock is now underway...........So, new carpets? Fresh paint ? Anything ????

Anyone have opinions/experience with the cellar master package offered? We have an 12 day 11 night cruise coming up, and thought this might be fun, although not sure if the price is worth it. We love wine, and I'm not sure that these wines are to our taste. We usually drink Napa/Sonoma Cabs and Merlots, not necessarily expensive, but decent, good qualilty wine, something you might pick up at a grocery store for $20-25 a bottle. Thoughts?

We are flying Delta Air from Portland (PDX) to Milan (LIN) with a 1 hour 40 minute stop over in Amsterdam (AMS). On our return flight, we are leaving Rome (FCO) on Alitailia Air to New York (JFK) and on to PDX with Delta with a 3 hour layover. MY question is when we arrive in AMS do we have to go to baggage claim to get our bags and then recheck them for our flight to LIN? Do we go through customs in AMS or LIN?

On our return flight do we get our bags in JFK and go through customs and then recheck them for our flight to PDX?

If someone could walk us through this process, step by step, it would help so very much. We do not have much experience in this and it has caused us much anxiety.
