Anyone else joining us on this sailing?

I was on the MSC Lirica in 2009 out of Ft Lauderdale to the southern Caribbean, it was more than 50% Europeans, everything was in 5 languages, the menus, announcements, shows, etc. I found some of the Europeans to be rude...cut in line, unfriendly, etc. overall
had a nice time, would not do another MSC or Costa Cruise unless it was free. Maybe things have changed since then.

We just booked this sailing with another gay couple, sailing from Bayonne, NJ to Bermuda (2 days there)
and then back to NJ. Prices dropped, looking forward to a great time.

Someone once said that RSVP and Atlantis
cruises sell more liquor for the sailaway alone
than straight cruises sell all week.
Not sure if this is entirely true.
was wondering what the average tab was
on a gay charter compared to mainline cruises.
just for fun....wanted to see what people posted.

I personally don't care for the dancing waiters...
I feel these people are overworked enough,
not be forced to do a song and dance too.
I would prefer to have them focus on service
and have time to chat with their guests.

We usually take NJ Transit to NY Penn and a taxi.
A car service is $200+ from central Jersey each way. If you still want suggestions, I have a couple companies I've used.
NJ Transit to a cab is the quickest and cheapest way.
Took train from Woodbridge to NYC was $10 per person
and then the cab was $10 for two people.

Carnival has cheap "East Coast Resident" rates
out of NYC to Florida, Nassau and Freeport starting
at $299 for 8 days, January and February 2013.
Cheap vacation....you have to book soon.

We live in central NJ, always sailed out of Miami
or Ft Lauderdale...just did out first cruise out of
NYC on the Carnival Glory, loved the convienence
of being in NYC in 40 minutes by train and not
having to fly anywhere or staying overnight in a
hotel. doing another cruise in January 2013.
-
I was on the Glory two weeks ago, carried a 12 pack of Coke Zero Cherry in my carry on bag, no questions asked. The cabin attendant unlocked the fridge for me to put it in there.

Was on the Carnival Glory two weeks ago, bought Coke Zero Cherry, 12 cans pack in my carry on...no questions asked.
had to ask the cabin attendant to unlock the fridge, the top shelf was empty, put them there.
I also bought Crystal Light single packs.

Just came off the Carnival Glory yesterday, they had it at some odd times...
11:30pm a few nights ...most couples were in bed by then,
9:00pm a few times ...it was during the second dinner seating and
7:45pm one night....just before our dinner seating so could not stay
long. There was about 13 of us. I did see another couple who always
made eye contact but did not seem interested in mingling.
It was held at the Burgundy Bar which was in a very busy area
next to the disco, a few times it was taken over by straights.
They should have had it in the Blue Bar or another quiet place.

I don't see where you get the numbers
for each category. maybe I am missing
something? I was looking at the Ruby
Princess for Feb 13 - 20, 2011.

Thanks for the picture, maybe I should try to move my cabin from E629 to something better in the F category.
-
We will be in the Crown cabin E629, it appears to have a partial view over a smaller life boat and maybe the end of it. anyone been in this cabin or E628?

I was planning on driving to Ft Lauderdale since the airfares are so high, I am booked for a 10 day cruise. what is the cheapest parking at or near Port Everglades where I can take a cab or shuttle?
