  1. Priests are only on board on major holidays. Sometimes when the ship is in port on a Sunday they try to get a local priest to come aboard to say mass.

Be careful if you see "Catholic mass" scheduled on the daily program as they often use the word "mass" even though there is no mass. There may be a prayer service but not a mass, and the staff who make up the daily program don't seem to recognize the distinction.

On Millie in March there was a "Catholic Mass" listed for each day in the daily program, but I can not say as to whether it was an actual mass or not.

  2. I've bought the premium non-alcoholic package for the Eclipse in July. I would like to know what you would recommend in terms of mocktails and frozen drinks and which bars sell them. Would I be able to order a mocktail with dinner? Did you order water and another drink at the same time?

There is a mocktail section in all of the bar menus onboard. My cousin ordered a lot of virgin strawberry daquiris and mudslides. Also something like a funky monkey (?) Chocolate and banana. You can order mocktails with dinner and I had no problem ordering Pellegrino as well as wine with dinner in the MDR

  3. My dh and I participated in this workshop on our last cruise. I did it mainly for the glasses. (You can order extra sets at the price of the workshop too!)The price is a great deal. In Canada, this tasting set costs $146 plus taxes and shipping. It worked out to $170 all in per set. On the ship the workshop was approx $80 CAN. Shipping to Canada is NOT $15, BUT $30. Still worth it. I already own lots of Reidel, but of the Wine Series and not the Vitum series. Vitum is a MUCH better quality, but VERY expensive in stores.

My dh had a good time at the workshop. BYW: Each glass in Canada sells for approx $55! Good deal, and lots of fun.

To those who think it is waste, you may not be wine drinkers. The shape, size etc of the glass do make a difference. Could you get glasses of the right shape for less, sure, but they are not of the same quality.

Thanks for posting the info about Canadian shipping costs. I was curious about this too. Did you have them shipped, or carry them home with you? I would think shipping would be easier, and safer, even at the higher cost.

  4. We are still debating this very issue and were startled at the drink prices on Celebrity... we're just not used to those prices. For instance, I had lemon drop martini's on Princess in January that cost $7.20, including the 15% service charge. Yes, it was a full-sized martini. And no, they don't water the drinks down. We've decided to wait until we're on the ship next Sunday and see what the prices are for our drink preferences.

    Two questions:

    1. It's too late now but is there any benefit to pre-ordering a drink package?

    2. I've already ordered the soda package. If I upgrade to the Premium package, will that be credited or will the Premium package be charged on top of the soda package I already have?

One benefit to pre-ordering is that you may get a better price (I saved money because the Canadian dollar was better at the time I paid for it.

You can upgrade once onboard. I upgraded from a Classic to Premium and was just charged the difference.

  5. I am looking for a good place to meet some friends near the Canada Place pier. I am flying in to Vancouver to meet some friends arriving on the Millenium for the day. None of us are too familiar with the area, and I am hoping someone can recommend somewhere not too far away, and easy to find.

  6. Classic Non-Alcoholic Package

    Premium Non-Alcoholic Package

I just paid $55.78 CAD per night when I prebooked, including the 15% service charge. Amazing rate, IMO

  7. Hi all, we have returned from our Millenium cruise 2 weeks ago and both of us had the classic drinks package. I have to say that this is fantastic, we were never without a drink and most of the waiter know after a day or so that you have a package. At dinner (we were on anytime dinning) both Sommeliers were great. They knew after 2 nights what we drank and would bring a bottle of the wine put it in a ice bucket and would tell us that they were not taking it back and we would have to finnish it, serfice to say we always did.

At the pool bar it was the same, always there with a Corona or a bloody ceasar or whatever we wanted. I agree with previous posters that if the classic spirit was not available they would give you premium, I had a lot of Barcardi 8 and better throughout. And as for replenishing a beer when warm, priceless (as previously stated). All in all our 11 night trip we worked out that we were well ahead even on port days.

Any questions just ask and i will try to accomodate.

Glad to hear about your good experience with the Classic package. I was wavering between the Classic and Premium because I have been reading that the wine choices were not that good with the Classic. Did you find you had enough to choose from? Also, were most cocktails under the $8 mark?

  8. That is incorrect, we purchased our beverage packages on line last month for our Post Thanksgiving Solstice sailing and were not charged taxes. The total included the cost of the package and the 15% servicee charge. I have heard that this may depend on if your state taxes internet purchases, Colorado does not. That being said, there was no where on the X website for taxes to be added.

Has anyone had to pay taxes when making an internet purchase for their beverage package?

No tax when I pre-purchased mine online
