  1. Our standard procedure has always been to purchase a wine package the first day and then for pre dinner drinks in a lounge or bar request a bottle from the package for my wife to have a glass while I order a beer. We then take the remaining wine into the restaurant to finish with dinner. This has always worked fine in the several cruise lines we have sailed with. It has been a long time since we cruised with Princess and reading some of the postings seems to indicate that our preferred procedure may not be possible. Would appreciate any comments or advice. Thanks in advance.

  2. Just a query regarding the various port excursions offered by the ship. Any recommendations from previous passengers on this itinerary? We want to do the Machu Picchu tour (despite the incredible cost) as we won't be coming this way again and is one of the reasons we booked this cruise. Thanks in advance for any advice.

  3. They say in every event in life there are winners and losers. In this case the losers are disappointed passengers who will not receive what they have paid for (not the fault of Costa) and the people in the missed ports who derive income from cruise ship visits. The clear winner, however, is Costa. Not only will they save the port charges on three ports but because they will, consequently, have extra time up their sleeve to reach Savona, they can sail the ship at a slower speed thereby achieving a saving in fuel which, on a ship of this size, would not be insignificant.

  4. We are booked on Deliziosa ex Dubai 3 April and are obviously disappointed that it appears, at this stage, that the Egyptian ports will be cancelled. Yemen was quietly removed some months ago with no advice from Costa. So, as it stands, out of the original 9 ports, 4 have been removed and seemingly replaced with 1 (Eliat). Like a lot of people (I would think) we have made arrangements both pre and post cruise which are not refundable so cancelling (if indeed this was offered) is not an option. Obviously Costa has acted prudently in avoiding places of conflict but I think the net loss of a third of the original ports could be better compensated. Costa may save a lot of money on port charges etc for the cancelled stops. As a goodwill gesture, how about giving some of this back to passengers? What about complimentary port excursions as a start?
