  1. Thanks for these, but they are not what I am looking for. It was a site that had a list of ships, and when you clicked on the ship, each cabin came up with comments from people who were in those cabins. It was by the people who sailed on the ships, and gave great info on everything about the room. I used it for a previous cruise and found out that the room we had booked had a smell from the plumbing in the wall behind the cabin so I was able to change it.

    Thanks in advance.

Try Beyond ships, not sure how up to date it is.

  2. Sorry if this has been answered, but I search threads & did't find a general concise opinion. Considering our first HAL cruise on the Rotterdam in March. Have numerous trips on RCCI and NCL. What major differences will we find and what might be better other than food? Thanks for your help in deciding.

  3. Yes, greedy, but not evil.

Also showing incredible disrespect to their customers. Also demonstrating what sure looks like (to somebody who's never operated a business, etc. :)) incredibly poor business acumen. I can't imagine how stoopit a CEO would have to be to can workers in the PR department just as you are going to need them working double-time to put a positive spin on the new conveniences.

I find this thread to be off-topic. Of course we're selfish. But the .001 percenters that FDR is working for are so much more selfish than the most venal poster here, that to point the finger at our "greed" for just wanting things to be as we were promised (again, SOME of us are after final payment!) just seems like a DISTRACTION.

    Right on point!

  4. I do not book with though of the CD. However, a good CD can make the cruise better. A bad CD really can't torpedo the cruise, but it may not be as much fun.

    IMHO

Pretty accurate, I would only add a cd can set the mood on a cruise with a positive but not overbearing attitude or a sour/somber disinterested air. We've had both. A lot depends on the cruisers personal likes/ dislikes.

  5. I agree with this 100%. We've only ordered room service once ever on NCL because the menu sucks. I'm interested to see the "enhanced menu." While I think $7.95 is ridiculous for room service, I'd pay a couple bucks for room service for breakfast if they offered a full menu.

Menu does not compare to other lines especially in lower catagories. But to me the main problem is NCLs continuing rule and price changes with little or no warning...this makes me less likely to trust them and that carries over to other areas of the cruise contract & safety issues. They need to be clear, straight - forward and honest with customers. It would be in every ones interest, to implement price & rule changes to cruises not yet booked or at least prior to penalty free cancilation date. Any loss of revenue would be off set by good will, loyalty and likelihood of NCL being recommended to family and friends, something the line has benefitted from in the past.

  6. Has anyone else noticed Sharks & Rays tour missing from offerings in Belize? Wonder if it might be full or discontinued, haven't had this happen on past cruises on advance bookings, maybe I've just been lucky. Also, have been unable to add tours to favorites while comparing/deciding. Just wondering.

  7. You bring up a good point: I now remember, being on the Jewel's first sailing, from London to the USA. The majority of the crew were from the Sun and why? According a couple of crew members (not from the Sun) the company choose Sun crew members because they were rated the top crew in the fleet at the time.

All of the good things said about the crew and more. Sun crew one of the best, most accomadating...cd rick good, HD Brian a fine gentleman, etc. Last sailed 4/14 so. carib, next 4/12 w. carib. Can't wait.

  8. Hotly debated on this board.

If you want to see ruins not yet fully excavated in an "Indian Jones" jungle setting with a boat ride and 4WD over dirt roads to get there, do a tour of Lamanai. If your ship doesn't offer an excursion to here, you can find a private vendor with an excursion. You do runt he risk of missing the ship on return, but the vendor will make every effort to get you back in time. From what I've heard it's very very rare for someone on a Lamanai tour to miss the last tender back. But it is a long long tiring day in the heat.

If you want to see ore fully excavate ruins with great views of 2 countries, do a ship excursion to Xunantunich. AC bus/ hand cranked ferry ride across a small river, nice lunch in San Ignacio. Again possible for an all day or nearly all day excursion, but if you're late the ship will wait.

If you want a partial jungle walk smaller but nice set of ruins and some time to do other things, Altun Ha would be your choice. Some ships have a one way ride via boat up the River Wallace to the ruins with a bus back. But you can easily do this cheaper via a private vendor.

Perhaps you can answer this question, I've tried numerous threads without luck. How long are the walking distances on this tour? Can a generally fit person who has difficulty walking more than 100-200ft at a stretch then has to rest a few minutes do this tour. Thanks in advance for any info,
