  1. If there are more than one platinum member in the cabin will each get a gift? Also if you get 3 bags of laundry on a 7 day cruise, is that 3 bags per cabin or per platinum member? Just curious as we will become platinum on this cruise April 21st.

  2. We have had coves on every ship that offers them and love, love, love them. Very close to water, only one level down to get off at ports, on level up for meals in dining area, 2 up for shows in theater. This way if elevator is taking to long you dont have far to the take stairs if needed. The cove balconys are also very private compared to regular balconies.

  3. Was curious if anyone that sailed on this cruise could help me with some insight. A few friends were on this cruise and it was their first one. I was really excited for them to have a great time. They told me that the weather turned bad and the ports had to be changed to avoid storms. They also said that the ship was rocking so bad that not only the guests but the crew were vomiting everywhere. Said they could not keep drinks in glasses and one said they were tossed around while trying to sleep so bad they had a bruise on their head from hitting the wall. They talked like this was the entire cruise after the ship left the Mississippi river until it returned. Not sure if they over exaggerated or fact, just wondering. Either way it killed their desire to cruise again.

  4. We also being southerners are accustom to drinking sweet tea as well. We just bring along a bottle or two of the mio tea flavored liquid drink drops and add a few drops to their tea and it makes it a great deal better. We also took a small seasoning container and filled with tonys seasoning as we find the food a little bland and bring that as well. On nights we decide for desert we want the chocolate melting cake we bring along a small jiff peanut butter on the go cup to add to them making it like a

reeses peanut butter cake. We have learned to either overcome or adapt and love cruising for the great time and price for a family vacation.

  5. I have booked several future cruises while on a cruise to get the OBC. Prior to sailing we would pick dates around our children's school vacations so we knew which date and which ship. You can book as soon as you see the future cruise desk open. Years ago they would let you buy vouchers for $100 and when you turned them in you received your $100 back towards the deposit plus $100 OBC. They discontinued that program a few years back though. As far as your question, yes the prices and rates will be the same as the ones in the presentation. In fact mine has always been the exact price was when I checked prior at home. The benifit is the OBC you receive. I would always book at the ES rate as that is the only way you are protected against the price of the cruise going down and can be compensated. I have watched friends over the years book other ways than ES and watched their anger as I collected either a cheaper fare as it dropped or OBC if I had paid mine off already. Several cruises I did not see the price go down any from my booking cost buy go up. The most I have seen it drop was one cruise where we ended up with $700 OBC due too the price drops and promotions. I have a cruise booked for April of next year and it had already dropped $175 since I booked. Yea .....hope it continues to drop. I hope this helps you some. Have a great cruise.

  6. I have sailed the Dream once and the Magic twice and all these times I was in the same room 2250 a 4 person room. I am also going to be in this room for the April 5th cruise in a few weeks and we love it. Its close by the elevators and have never been bothered by the noise. Also love that when you come in from a port, if the elevators are busy, you just go up a few steps and you are your room, one floor up you are at the theater. Its the only place I would want to cruise on this ship. Hope you have a great cruise.

  7. My family has been there twice and both times we used resort for a day and thoroughly enjoyed both times. What I would suggest is if you drink beer to bring your own larger cup as the ones they use are very small and the main bar is a walk from the main pool with the water slides and lazy river. They do not mind you using your own cup as they actually washed mine each time prior to filling. Just a little FYI to help. Have a great time.

  8. I also have the Fuji XP70 and it takes great underwater as well as land photos. We had an older Fuji XP model that finally quit working and decided to try a gopro. We brought it on our cruise last year and I Just could not get used to not having a view finder on the back as I have gotten accustomed to looking at what I shoot. End up going back to the Fuji and have been happy ever since.

  9. Hello, I would like to take a cruise with close family/friends from Tampa to Cozumel and get married on the island. If anyone has been to or gotten married at either Mr. Sanchos or Nachi Cocom, please share with me your thoughts; I can't decide which one would be best. I'm looking for something strss-free that is all included. Thanks for the advice!!

Never been to a wedding but have been to both and will have to say that Nachi Cocom is hands down a quieter and better environment for that type activity.

  10. Sorry if this is a duplicate, I haven't read the whole thread...

In the MDR, I always ask for some peanut butter whenever I order a chocolate melting cake. Put a bit of peanut butter on your spoon for each bite of melting cake... results in a warm, melted Reese's cup! It's wonderful! :D

On our cruise last year on the Magic, we had YTD and each evening we asked if they could get peanut butter for the WCMC and was told that they did not have any in the kitchen. I understand that it was a strange request but my thoughts were that on this huge ship with all the food choices available, I find it hard to believe that there was none whatsoever.

On our upcoming cruise I have already bought a few packs of the Jiff togo peanut butter that I can bring in my pocket with me and eat with them. Can't wait as it sounds delicious.

  11. Just have a quick question, I have been on several 7 day western cruises to Cayman, Jamaica and Cozumel, but this will be my first eastern going to Key West, Freeport and Nassau. Is the MDR menu the same for both cruises? What night are your cruise elegant nights? I am wanting to do the steakhouse and was hoping to schedule it for a night with a bit less desirable menu in the MDR if possible. I have looked at the samples on zydecruiser and was not sure if it was close or not.

    Thanks for all your help

  12. Thanks, may have to look into one of these to with a low amount on it. That way if it is hacked o stolen, not a lot lost. Have never used my credit card out of the country, just good old Benjamin's which can't be hacked...LOL

  13. I wonder if you could get a visa or mastercard gift card prior to going with a few hundred bucks on it. I would feel a bit better than using my personal credit card outside the USA. It's bad enough having to deal with the potential hackers here in the states.

  14. My family has been on both and my children ages 15,10 and the rest of the family prefer the Magic. Not only, the mini golf is better, they have the red frog pub and few other food venues that we enjoyed more than the Dream. We did enjoy the Dream, don't get me wrong, which we will sail again next, just preferred the Magic.

  15. I agree with FishTaco regarding getting your own ice. I am guessing that you haven't seen anyone go to the lavatory and leave without washing his/her hands. I don't want passengers going in to the area where ice is and reaching in to get their own ice.

We would not know if they used a scoop, dipped the ice bucket that they have obviously carried in to get the ice, or even used their hands to get the ice out of the machine and into the bucket or cooler or whatever. I hope the stewards keep the door locked when they are off duty.

Another concern about getting one's own ice is noro-virus. I realize this is a stretch, but there are people who don't care about others so they sail when they are sick. Do you really want them touching the ice?

If you are happy to fill your own bucket, and I do understand the afternoon lack of ice, just go to the closest open bar and the bartender will fill the bucket for you. Easy peasy!

But yet you all have eaten on the lido buffet at least once and the same dirty hands have handled each of your serving spoons. Strange how an ice bucket is any different or would possibly hold more germs.

  16. A friend of mine is currently on an Alaskan cruise on a different line and asked the same question to his cruise company about the days being a Tuesday to Tuesday and they claim it is because the airfare is cheaper on Tuesdays and that 99 percent of their clientele have to fly in for the cruise. I am not sure if this is the exact reason hey do, but I have always found flights cheaper on Tuesdays myself.

  17. It will be the first place I head once on board.

We actually picked our second favorite itinerary so we could go on a ship with a Guy's. My husband didn't want to go on a ship without one and I had to agree.

We are actually considering driving to Galveston which is four hours away than going out of New Orleans which is only and hour drive and just one of the reasons is that the Triumph has Guys Burger Joint.

  18. We actually just tried a steak house onboard a carnival ship for the first time on or April 20th cruise on the Dream. We made reservations prior to going and they did not charge it to us, just gave us a confirmation of the date and time. When we went to eat they then placed it on our sign and sail to be paid with your final bill. Hope this helps and enjoy your cruise.
