  1. I have read that it is rude to blow your nose in public. That you need to be careful about photographing police and military officers. The word papaya is similar to a vulgar word so it is best to avoid saying papaya so as not to offend. What other etiquette needs to be observed? I want to be respectful and polite during my visit and want to leave a good impression of American tourists.

  2. This thread is helpful for those of us flying down with luggage weight restrictions. We had decided since it was a 5 day cruise with no formal night(s) we were going to try to only have to bring one suit case. We are using a different airline than usual and are only allowed 40lbs per suitcase.

If we wear jeans to dinner with a polo or casual shirt (not t shirt) and tennis shoes it will help substantially with our weight on suitcase.

Thanks for comments and thoughts very helpful.

  3. First of all, Cruise Critic is absolutely the best place to get research done when prepping for a cruise. We will be cruising to Eastern Caribbean next Feb and for the first time we are renting a bungalow along with our friends. We have a few questions:

1 I read some really old posts that said Princess will take you on a golf cart to the bungalows if you have difficulty walking. I have some difficulty and wondered if that was still an option?

2 Do you have a staff member that brings your food from the island buffet?

3 What tip do you give the staff member? Do you do a percentage of entire rental or how do you determine the amount?

4 Does Princess provide the towels at the bungalow or do you have to bring yours from the ship?

5 I also read somewhere in old posts, that a welcome drink is provided? Is that true, 2 of the 4 of us drink no alcohol due to meds do you get to order your drink? Also I read somewhere in past posts that a pitcher of water is left with ice for you. That would be very welcome is that still true?

6 How do you know which bungalow is yours? How does Princess know how many people will be in a bungalow?

This will be our 26th cruise with Princess, but our first time with the bungalow so any info is appreciated.

    Thanks!!!!!!

  4. We just got back from Southern Caribbean on the Royal Princess. Cant say enough about Brian and Barbel. We rode in their brand new van it was put in service the day we visited. EXCEPTIONAL VALUE with this tour. You do have photo stops, they offer refreshments from coolers on the van at one stop. They try to make sure you see everything and get your photos, even backing up the van if you miss a shot!!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! They said they are always full by the time the ship docks so recommend you book early with them. Also they have a 15 passenger van but they dont fill it to capacity so you dont feel stuffed in.
