  1. Where do you make Chops and Portofino reservations on the first day and starting at what time? At the same place or do you have to go to each restaraunt?

Do they make reservations on the half hour, ie 6:30 or 7:15? Trying to work out getting the kids to AO first! :)

We always make our reservations as soon as we board. You can make the reservations for whenever you want. We made reservations at Chops at 8:15 with no problems.

  2. I am going to be traveling on Liberty of the Seas in July and am trying to find out about the options for getting off the ship on the last day...

Normally I have always waited for the color of my tag to be called and then I have gotten off of the ship....but I have heard that there is an option to not set your luggage outside of your room the night before so that you can take it off yourself and leave earlier...is this true?

I am trying to book a flight for 11:15 (leaving out of Ft. Lauderdale even though we are arriving into Miami) and I want to make sure there will be enough time for travel to the airport and then getting to our flight...anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Thanks!

Yes, there is an option to carry off your own luggage. Our color was the first to be called. We were off the ship by 8:00, went through Customs, grabbed our luggage and at the FLL airport by 9:30. Our flight wasn't until 1:45 PM and we were not able to check-in so we had to sit and wait (with our luggage) until 11:45.

If you carry off your own luggage, you'll have no problems catching a 11:15 flight. Just make sure that you are the first one off, Customs will be your only hold up.

  3. What a bummer!

About teenagers - Im nervous too. We are bringing DS (15) and want to make sure he will have someone to hang around with!

Definitely make sure that he goes to the teen activities/clubs that are on board. He will meet kids in his age group and will have plenty of activities to keep himself busy. We never saw my step-son, only at dinner. On the last day of the cruise, he asked if he could skip dinner with us and hang out with his friends instead. This was a good sign for us!! :D

  4. Are you going to post a review? Do you have a photo album on line?

Debbie...unfortunately for me, I came down with a bad case of the flu on Day 2 and stayed locked up in my cabin for three straight days. I battled a high fever and sore throat, and wasn't able to eat anything. I think I am the only person I know that goes a cruise, get sick, and manage to lose 6 lbs! Sorry, didn't take many photos either. :(

  5. I'm wondering if any of you that have sailed on Liberty during spring break could tell me how long the lines really are. The only other cruise we have been on was Radiance of the Seas and it was after Thanksgiving and not very crowded. We only saw a hand full of kids the whole time.

The more I have been reading the more I am getting worried. We will be taking the kids on this cruise for spring break so I want them to have other kids to meet and socialize with, but I'm worried we will be spending so much time waiting in lines for everything.

On the Radiance I don't remember ever having to wait in a line.

Will we be disappointed with this cruise? I'm not worried about the kids on the ship. I love kids and it wouldn't bother me if the whole ship was full of just kids, it is just the long wait to do things that has me worried.

    Thanks!

Hi there! I just returned from LOS on Saturday and it was our spring break. There were a ton of kids/teenagers on this cruise. Your kids won't have any problems making friends or finding things to do. We took my step-son who is 15 and he had a great time!

  6. Hi FOlks,

We just returned Saturday from the Liberty Eastern Itinerary, If anyone has any questions I would be happy to try to answer them. We stayed in a Prominade stateroom on deck 8.

    Ask away!!

AWESOME!! I am sailing her this weekend on the same itinerary. We have two adjoining cabins on deck 8 and a promenade cabin as well. We are SO excited about this cruise. We haven't been on a cruise in 2-1/2 years and are really looking forward to relaxing and having a great time.

  7. Vince...I couldn't find the Seaview Cafe on the ship's deck diagram. I believe it is only on the Brilliance class ships. What a bummer too because I love the cafe too!

Christie...can you tell me if there are showers in the gym? Also, are there towels readily available or do we need to bring our own from our staterooms?

    I'm getting excited!

  8. I will be sailing LOS in just a few short weeks...woohoo!! :D Can you tell I'm getting excited?!?!

I've been on the Voyager class before so I can only imagine that Liberty is going to be bigger and better! Quite honestly, DH and I prefer the Radiance class but we are taking our parents and DH's son...so there will be a variety for all of us.

For San Juan, we plan to visit OSJ and check out the forts and eat some local food. We don't plan on too much walking since FIL has had two knee surgeries, hip replacement and shoulder surgeries and MIL also had knee surgery.

Labadee is RCCL's private beach in Haiti. You really can't go anywhere so it's a good day to relax on the beach. There's water sports, snorkeling and such. The ship brings the food (bbq) and drinks to the beach.

In St. Maarten there is plenty to do...shop, drink, go to the beach, tours and so on. It's all a matter preference.

We will definitely be going to Portofino's and Chops. This will be a first and probably last cruise for the in-laws. My MIL is terrified of water and boats. She is only willing to go because DH paid for their cruise as a retirement gift to his father. Should be an interesting 7-days to say the least.

karena1...how was the gym? I do an hour of cardio every day. Are there plenty of cardio equipments? What about free weights? I definitely plan on taking a yoga and pilates class. I want my mother to try the classes too. Do you remember the hours of the gym? Was it ever crowded?

I am counting down the days...
