  1. Just wanted to keep this updated if possible.  Thanks to all the CC advice and tips from this post!!  I can confirm they are still Samsung tv’s on the Niew Amsterdam.  I was able to plug into the HDMI behind the tv and use my Roku to stream whatever I wanted.  Roku allows you to use your smartphone to input the wi-fi info for your Roku device.  I tried using a firestick first, but it wouldn’t pop up the WiFi login screen.  I used a cheap RCA universal remote (non-smart tv type) that I purchased in a port after seeing this thread and was able to change the input as described/pictured above.  Once again, thanks for all the info, now we can stream other content besides the limited channels offered.

There is an extra 110v outlet available behind the tv, I have a flat plug on my outlet extension so I was able to utilize it, I also used a thin HDMI chord.  Hope some of this helps others.

  2. I've looked on Celebrity's website that the premium package includes Jack Daniels Single Barrel, can anyone verify if it was readily available? I've been on ships before when you ask for a certain liquor that was shown on the menu and they say they are out until the ship restocks, which is a little annoying. Thank you in advance.

  3. One tip if you buy onboard is to wait until you've sailed away and are in international waters, otherwise they charge you tax, besides the 18% gratuity, on the purchase or upgrade price. We learned this tip several years ago. We've done it two different ways...1) just wait about an hour after sailaway or 2)If you can't wait, just make sure to do it with a bar tender who takes the upgrade or package purchase with a hand written receipt because they are not inputted until late that night. If you do it at a bar and they swipe your card, then you will be charged the tax if still docked.

    Hope this helps.

  4. If you wait to upgrade while on the ship, not only can you use your OBC, but you don't get charged taxes (see below). If you upgrade at home prior to the cruise, you'll be charged tax.

You have to wait for the ship to be in international waters, or just talk to the bartender and ask him to make sure he doesn't charge it until after the ship leaves port....most do it on the handwritten receipts and those don't get charged to your account until much later at night, which avoids the stateside taxes.
