  1.

We are also on this cruise.   So disappointed about the delay.   Onboard credit really does not make up for losing a whole day and possibly one port day.

Iona is just off the tip of Spain at the moment and the weather looks fine there, so perhaps the problem is Southampton.   We have friends on Iona at the moment, so wonder what compensation they will have for a delayed return.

  2. What an Amazing Captain. We were with him on a Greek Island cruise last October and he had his family with him. It was lovely seeing him push his young son around the deck each day or trying to get him to sleep at night. He was so proud when his son produced his first tooth that he announced it to the whole ship. By the end of the cruise he wasn't known as 'The Captain', but 'A........'s Daddy'.

Cruising with him was such a pleasure. We sail on Oriana tomorrow but do not yet know who our Captain will be.

  3. Hi WINDSONG2, my name is Pat and my husband is Scott, it would be nice if we manage to meet up on Britannia and say hello. To be truthful just how big does the balcony need to be as long as there is a couple of chairs and a table that should be enough. Look forward to hopefully meeting you on 30th May.

Hi, It would be lovely if we could meet up on 30th May to say hello. Must arrange it nearer the date. Only 9 days to go until Britannia arrives. Friends have been invited to the "shakedown" cruise on 11th March, prior to her inaugural cruise, so we will very interested to hear their views. Look forward to meeting up on 30th.

  4. Would be nice if you get the 30th May we could meet up on Britannia and say Hi. Good luck

Hi, We are also booked in on 30th May for a visit and looking forward very much to seeing Britannia as we have a cruise booked on her later in the year. I agree, the balconies do appear to be rather shallow. We shall have to wait and see.

  5. This is an amazing train journey and well worth doing. When we last visited Flam, we were the only ship there. We got off at 8.30am and had no problem obtaining tickets at the station (reduced fares for over 60's). We caught the 9am train which is the first train of the day. Half way to Myrdal the train stops for photo shoots at the 305ft. Kjosfossen waterfall. If you have a choice, on the way up sit on the right hand side of the carriage for the best views. We caught the first train back as we wanted to visit the Museum and then went for a most enjoyable walk out of Flam. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.

  6. Windsong2 - we are on same cruise and also allocated dining arrangements on board - but prefer 1st sitting. So if you get 1st sitting please contact A288 as a swap may be possible!

    Hi jej122000,

Thank you so much for your kind offer. If we are allocated 1st sitting I will give you a call with regard to a possible swap. Much appreciated.

  7. Hi all, I'm a newbie to P&O. Can anyone tell me if there is a drying line over the bath for swimming attire? If not, how do you dry them, balcony?

Hi, we always take a small travel line with us; they are under £5. Its a twisted cord which eliminates the need for pegs, just push the washing between the cords; on the ends it has the choice of suction cups or hooks. DH usually takes any washing we have to the laundrette (early morning before the rush). We use the line for swimwear and attach one suction cup to the balcony door and one hook to a chair. If weather not good, use 2 suction cups, on opposite walls of bathroom. Hope this helps.

  8. Hello all,

I recently made a saver booking for next July.

I see on my booking a cabin has been assigned, I booked HD but been allocated HA !!!! The questions are can this be changed by P&O and can I expect dining to be allocated pre cruise or will I definitely have to wait until we board to find out ?

    Many thanks

Hi, We are on Aurora next week, booked on a Getaway Fare. We knew which deck we would be on as the grade we booked was only on Deck B. We received our cabin number last week and are pleased with the position. Yesterday, I phoned P & O to ask if it is possible to book 2nd sitting dinner. I was told that if the booking is on a Getaway Fare you have no choice of 1st of 2nd dinner. As Sue said, it will be allocated on board and I was told we will not be able to change it at all because of the type of booking we've made. I'm not sure that is right. 1st sitting is far too early for us and it would ruin our holiday if we were forced to stick with it - I think it will be a quick trip to see what the Maitre D' can do for us. Fingers crossed we will already be allocated 2nd sitting.
