1. Check with cell provider and get international plan for while you're traveling.

2. Bring lots of $1 and $5 bills for tipping.

3. I prefer to use cash when I'm in port, unless I make a big purchase. Get the cash you need for port days before you leave home and lock in your safe once you board. ATM charges are terribly high.

I'm booked on the AOS, deck 12, rooms 12282 and 12284. It looks like the rooms are right outside the Concierge Lounge, more across from a set of stairs. Do you think this will be a noisy spot? Should I change?

What are your thoughts, Embassy Suites or Rennaisance Hotel in FLL?

I'm traveling with my husband and three children, ages 3, 8, and 14 going out on the Allure.

Not to hijack, but we're doing the Eastern on Allure next year with our 3, 8, and 14 yo. We've been there so many times, we plan to just go to the beach and do a little shopping. Once before, we left our then 4 yo in the kids club on the boat while we went to Nassau. We left the pager with my grandparents who also sailed with us, told them to contact them if something came up, but I was worried being so far away from her, that we didn't really get to enjoy the time away. I don't think I'd do that again.

I'm a mom of 3, going on the Oasis next summer. I understand where you're coming from on wanting character breakfasts designed more for children than adults. I'd be upset if my kids weren't able to participate too.

I'm all for spending alone time with your spouse but I think 2 is the perfect time to take a cruise. He will love it and imagine how excited he will be to see everything. My best memories of our vacations are of my kids.
