We had the hotel arrange the cab and a private driver to pick us up when we arrived. Send an e-mail to your hotel and ask them. Our hotel was very accomodating.

Check his reviews on Trip Advisor - excellent all the way. Hope it works out for you. He tailored the day to what we wanted and added more to it but asked us first. Beside being a very professional and knowledgeable guide, he is a wonderful person

So you want a tour guide for the day who will drop you off at the airport? Steve Bolnick is first class. http://www.stevebolnicksafaris.com

Check with your hotel for airport transportation. If you are just going to the airport you don't need a tour guide. Uber is also an alternative. We used them in Cape Town but took a cab to the airport

I agree with mn2ga. I was also just there in November and wore denim capris and t-shirts with short sleeves. Because I was going into a mosque I had a blouse with those rolled up/buttoned up sleeves that I could roll down when inside. When not in the mosque I just kept the blouse tied around my neck, like you would a sweater. I also kept a scarf tied onto my bag for my head when I needed it.
The dress was pretty casual and we seen everything from traditional clothing to business attire, plunging necklines, some very short skirts and a lot of very high heels!
We also seen people holding hands and men with their arms around their lady friends.
We were not asked about meds at all.
It's a wonderful place....a real mix of old traditions and the new lifestyles.
Yes, to the the Rhodes. Ignore all of the sensationalistic "warnings" and enjoy Dubai.

I had been reading nothing but horror tales so was very apprehensive about going there. It was fine. The gold souk was not what I had anticipated. The Dubai Mall was incredible with the cleanest public restrooms I have ever seen in my life. The tram in Dubai is clean, easy and fast. We did the hop on hop off bus to get an overview of the area.

Yes, we took a cab but I don't remember how much it was. It was not a hassle at all. You may want to have the name and address of the hotel written out to show the cab driver. Don't be intimidated by all of the "stuff" that you read. UAE depends on tourists ad we were treated well at all times.

Just returned from a week in the beautiful Cape Town area. Found a tour guide that was wonderful. He customized the tour to what we (four of us) wanted, was very professional, knowledgable, fun, and easy to be with. This man was a gem. You can contact me or google Steve Bolnick to get his information. He was too good not to share.

Just stayed at the JW Marriott in Diera. Nice and clean hotel with good service but overpriced restaurants.

Just returned from Dubai and found that many of the posts were greatly exaggerated. Use common sense regarding what to wear. I wore a ¾ sleeve tee shirt and either a mid calf skirt or cropped pants. NO problem. The meds were a non issue also.

Steve Bolnick of Walk in Africa is a wonderful tour guide. He is professional and knowledgable. There were four of us that Steve took on a full day driving tour of the area. It was great and I recommend him for any kind of our that you may want. He will custom tailor it to your preferences.
