infok,  since nobody has posted yet...  I believe that the sofa can be turned into a bed... and/or the drop/down berth would come down just above the sofa. ( in rooms that can have 4 guests )

There may be photos out there, but I would not be aware of any.

If I am seeing correctly, it looks like all the balcony  cabins that can accommodate 4 have the bed by the entry, and the sofa by the sliding door.   That would make sense, as it looks as if a pull-down berth over the sofa would be too tight, when the sofa is at the entry,  and would block the exit of the cabin too much.

A third passenger on the sofa would not really block any of that floor-space pathway.

Thanks @Wishing on a star, that’s what I was hoping.

Sacrificing laying on the bed looking out to the balcony for not climbing over the couch bed to go to the bathroom.

    Joys of non-solo cruising 😆

  2. I read this as:

To be honest, I enjoy the demographics of the Princess ships being more Adult focused. Recently been on Carnival and Royal...

Found Carnival to be an "all-inclusive", Royal to be a bit higher-quality family focused, and Princess to be that Adult kick-back without breaking the bank.

Do we have any other options for an Adult focused line, without going to the extreme of Virgin, or the Priceline of Seaborne? Would it be Celebrity?

"Medallion" was a short lived cruise card ... it was replaced by the Ruby card - but 'Medallion' at one time was a captain's circle level - 4/17/13

    Yeah,

I've gotten my Blue, Gold, Ruby, and Platinum cards,

I have a few medallions in Blue (while in "beta") and Platinum.

Just want my Black Card, lol...

The cruise cards still exist at least as of January 2023.  I was able to convert my Medallion into a cruise card.  Guest Services said all they had were blank cruise cards for Platinum and were out of Elite.  I took it--not a big deal.  This doesn't help the OP for their purposes, but I really just wanted a cruise card in lieu of the Medallion.

Awe... too many Platinum peeps... Will still ask...

    Thanks everyone for your help...

  5. I probably know the answer but still going to ask.

Anyone still able to get a card to go along with the medallion?

I have all my Sail&Sign cards from the Beginning to Platinum, but alas my initial Elite cruise was cancelled, something about the year 2020 IDK, lol.

Finally will be able to take that cruise shortly. Maybe trying to dash the hopes sooner than later.

    TIA

  6. AWE!!! First Elite cruise is planned for next year and I was so looking forward to the "Rite of Passage" that is shoving some poor Platinum member into the sea as I shuffled onto the tender clutching my black medallion, Princess is taking away all the fun... They better have some tea and biscuits in the waiting room! /s

However, cruise credits aren't worth anything anymore once you're Elite. They used to make a difference for Loyalty Credit, but Loyalty Credit doesn't exist anymore. All other benefits are based on number of days only, and number of days is not adjusted for solo or suite.

Oh so true, but also oh so sweet when you need 3 credits to become Elite and a window suite is available on a 4 day to Ensenada!

Although, it is not offered as a perk on sailings of 5 nights or less, we overheard some people stating they did get a free specialty dinner for being in a suite, at least on the first sailing (5 days).  Not entirely sure if it was also offered on the 4 night sailing.

Not sure if it was a fluke, but I seemed to have gotten one for my 4-day later this month. When scheduling my specialty both nights one and two were comped. I expected one from the promotion, but the second had a credit and didn’t charge the card either.

  9. I recently received an email from Royal advising that they were cancelling our Key passes for this sailing due to COVID?

    Anyone else received this?

    Dear Guest,

We have an important change to share with you regarding your purchase of The Key.

As boarding procedures have changed due to our new health and safety protocols, we must cancel your reservation for The Key. We know how much time and planning goes into a vacation and we're terribly sorry for any inconvenience caused by this last-minute change. We've issued a full refund of The Key to your original form of payment, and you should see it reflected within 30 days. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us here.

Thank you for your understanding. Wishing you a wonderful sailing and looking forward to welcoming you aboard!

    Sincerely,

    Royal Caribbean International

We received 4.  Two for each of us before our cruise February 2019.  Called Princess and they explained to me that there was no info in the Medallion and I could bring either one.

Same, one extra, early, souvenir. 😆

  11. As mentioned, getting it mailed usually saves a lot of time and effort at the port. Those minutes that they take looking for the old cruise cards felt like wasted vacation, lol. 2 minutes felt like an eternity.

Like others, on my last cruise I had the medallion mailed, and the on-boarding process seemed seamless, a quick glance at the passport and I was in past checkin within 5 minutes. Only to sit in the holding area for 2 hours due to delays, lol.

  12. Yea, this was odd. My FCC was also applied automatically to my furtherest out cruise which was Dec 2020. I ended up calling and cancelling it yesterday along with another earlier Dec 2020 cruise, the FCC is showing already on my Captains Circle account.

They said my deposit refund for the other cruise might take longer than the normal 2-weeks.

Oh, I’m not sure the Caribe deck on the Royal  has the larger balconies unless its one that juts out.Either way, you are going to get spoiled to the balcony. Enjoy

    Yea, not on the Royal,

But still a great upgrade. Congrats and Enjoy!!!

I am around your age and stopped Carnival at 28. Probably stopped RCCL around 31.

I think it is important to try multiple lines to find the right fit and then after awhile - try another line. I would recommend also looking at Celebrity. You never know who will have a better deal.

I stopped sailing Carnival at 28 too, right after a physical side-by-side comparison of the ships, and the fact that the price was not that much more for the same itinerary.

  15. Yea, the mocktails were included in the previous packages but not the natural juices and smoothies that you could get from the Outrigger (similar to Jamba Juice), if the new package now includes those, it would help to kinda justify a little bit of the increase.

  16. I've seen fruit juices and smoothies at the Outrigger bar on the Regal, usually Aft, behind the Horizon Court, in the past, before the new packages those were for charge. If they are included, I see the benefit there.
