Been searching for a cruiser to mention this hotel!! We booked Hotel Barcelona Universal as well, based on tripadvisor and hotels website reviews. Sadly our travel agent was unhappy and worried for us! Glad to see a positive review.

 

Did you have an easy time getting to port from the hotel?

We have stayed at the Barcelona Universal Hotel and found it to be very nice.

There were several local restaurants nearby.

It was a short cab ride from the Airport.

We will stay there again in Nov.

I rent from National and there is a place at the Pan Pacific Hotel where you can drop off your rental car.

I booked the 4* Hyatt Regency Downtown Vancouver $122 via Priceline.

 

 

Lowest rack rate is $279 Canadian.

 

 

Total with tax and fees $149.04 US.

Hello again Putterdude. We are three retired couples (ages 62-72) and would like your recommendations on how to make the most out of our three days pre-cruise stay in Vancouver. We will be at the Cassandra Hotel (3075 Kingsway). We will have rental cars; however we don't mind using public transportation if that is more advantageous. We would appreciate your suggestions on where to go and what to see in your fair city. We arrive the evening of May 15 and our cruise departs on May 19.

We will be in Vancouver for four nights prior to our May 19 cruise departure and are looking for a hotel outside of the downtown area. Do you have any information on the Cassandra Hotel on Kingsway? We will have a rental car. We are retired and in our late 60s. We'd appreciate any information that you may have. Thanks.
