    Beverage package sale but upgrade cost has increased

    I upgraded to the premium package online using 'Cruise Planner' this morning for an upcoming 10 day cruise in September.

     

    The cost per person was CAD$160.80 (including gratuity), which is equivalent to USD$120 or UKP100. I thought CAD$16 per day to drink some fine single malts and wines was a good deal.

     

    Interestingly the upgrade option only appeared in 'Cruise Planner' after I had called Celebrity the previous day to get details on the 'sale'.

    Stateroom # - 11308

    Stateroom Category – H6 Haven Aft-facing Balcony

    Starboard or Port Side - Port

     

    Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

     

    Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

     

    Balcony View - Unobstructed.

     

    Balcony Size? Very large. We had 2 lounge chairs, 4 regular chairs and table.

     

    Was wind a problem? No

     

    If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No.

     

    Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

     

    Any other comments? - Absolutely amazing cabin. Separate bedroom with huge bathroom attached, complete with large tub and shower. Second bathroom with shower adjacent to cabin door. Huge balcony with slider off living room, as well as a door off the bedroom.

     

    Only possible negative was that it was 450 steps to the Haven, but based on the amount of food we consumed in the Haven restaurant that could be viewed as a positive.

    We were on the same cruise and had a wonderful time too.

     

    St Petersburg was definitely the highlight for us. We chose to do the Deluxe Two Day group tour with SPB (US$255pp) which was 16 of us in a mini bus. Very knowledgeable guide, and a great bunch of fellow CC travellers. The guide even pointed out a team of pickpockets working the crowds at Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood :) The Hermitage is stunning, each room just gets better and better, and you run out of superlatives quickly.
