  1. Having been on Grandeur OTS, I know that she and Enchantment are "sister ships", built and put into service about a year apart.

Grandeur had several specialty dining options when we were onboard which I'm not seeing on Enchantment (Steakhouse only).  Are there any other big differences between the two ships?

  2. Will be cruising on Oasis OTS - our first trip on any Oasis class ship.  We want to choose two speciality restaurants during our cruise.

One will be Giovanni's for sure - we love Italian food.  Thinking of making 150 Central Park our second choice.  What are thoughts on
150 Central Park vs the other speciality restaurants offered on the ship?

  3. In March, we will be cruising on Princess for the first time, sailing the 7 night California Coastal itinerary. We have cruised RCCL, NCL, HAL, Carnival and Celebrity. My first question is to see if anyone can provide information on what musical/band-type entertainment is currently on Ruby. I'm not looking for production shows. Also, which of the specialty restaurants would you recommend? Really looking forward to this cruise!

  4. Besides the 5 booking incentives, what exactly are the perks that Haven guests receive? I can't seem to find any good information on it anywhere, even the NCL site is vague. I know there is a butler, concierge, restaurant and lounge. Anything else? Free use of Thermal spa? Any discounted spa treatments? Priority seating at pool area?

  5. We are on the Breakaway 10/30/16 sailing as well. I called NCL last night and they confirmed that GSC is closed until at least 11/20. They could not tell me what the alternate plan would be. They said ships are being rerouted to different locations and that we would receive an email with notification of the change 2 to 3 days prior to sailing.

  6. We are arriving in Nassau next week on Breakaway. Our neighbors will be in Nassau on the Pride on the same day. Would love to meet up with them for a drink. Is there a bar close to the pier where we could meet them?

  7. Just upgraded from 2 balcony cabins to The Haven 2 Bedroom Suite. Traveling with my elderly father and felt its was a better way for us to care for him and keep an eye on him. I was wondering if reservations were necessary in The Haven restaurant. Also, is there any musical entertainment in The Haven Lounge in the evenings. I noticed that there are lounge chairs on an upper level above The Haven pool area that are still under the retractable roof. Is there an elevator available to get to this level (think it's deck 17?) or only stairs?

  8. we only sailed once on NCL, Breakaway Dec 2014.... Not much of a heads up but, If you get lost easily like my wife and get turned around easy. When you're in the hallways outside the cabins look down at the carpet. the fish "swim" towards the front of the ship.

What a great tip. Thank you!

  9. What is the going rate to simply pick up a cab at the docks for 1-2 hour tour? Is it a good idea?

I have the same question. I don't want to commit to booking a tour in Nassau before we arrive. Traveling with my elderly Dad and don't know if he will be up for a tour the day we arrive. So, I'm wondering if it is safe to just catch a cab at the port for a short tour? Anything to watch for? I know on some Islands, the cabs that are validated/certified by the country have special markings. Does Nassau have something like this?

  10. When we boarded the ship we used the NCL app to reserve one of th shows. You could not reserve online before boarding. You could only reserve one show even though there are a few different shows. However, we stood in the standby line for a 9pm show one night and got in no problem about 10 minutes before the show. So don't worry about it!

Will the app work if I don't buy the wifi pkg?
