  1. Had booked on Noordam for the San Diego to Sydney cruise in October but then when ports were cancelled and substituted we

cancelled. Now we notice this has happened with Zuiderdam cruise to Fort Lauderdale.

We have a cruise booked on P&O Australia on the former Star Princess (now Pacific Encounter). Today we were advised that

Komodo Island was substituted with Lombok and also our Cairns overnight had been substituted with an additional sea day.

My feeling is that Carnival Corporate have directed brands to reduce port time and increase sea days to save fuel costs.

Doesn’t matter that many choose a particular cruise for specific ports that we wanted to visit. We are not the first consideration

    anymore.

  2. We both booked online at different times. Just seems a coincidence it

Happened to both of us - my friend on day one of the cruise and mine started on day two. Both cards were locked into our respective stateroom

Safes for the duration hence no charges, except for the last day folio total

Charge by Princess. We also bank with different organizations and at check in no one asked for our card. Both were protected by a Korjo

White sleeve. Very messy process trying to sort this out now as we both

Are getting new cards. Also now in contact with Princess as to how their

Final payment will be processed given the cards had to be cancelled

Before they processed it on disembarkation day.

    Thanks for you input.

  3. Does anyone know what information is embedded into

the cruisecard we use on board ship. My credit card got

scammed and it was totally raid protected the entire time

before and after the cruise. The first transaction was the

second day of the cruise. Same thing happened to our

Traveling companions. Credit cards were not taken ashore but in safe until disembarkation. Same thing

Happened to us on a P&O ship two years ago.

    Anyone else had this problem?

  4. My first voyage as a young man in his 20's was round the world on the

greatest P&O liner Canberra. My favorite place on the ship was the Cricketers tavern. On that voyage we went north from Sydney to Japan and Hong Kong and back to Sydney before continuing on to Southampton via the Panama Canal.

  5. Very grateful that so many of you responded honestly.

As a result we will now confirm our booking. In the past we have been loyal HAL and Princess cruisers with the last being RCI which did not please us. We are Australian and the Oceania Smart casual option is good as we don't have to pack dinner suits etc..

It is the itinery that drives where we travel and Oceania has some interesting voyages in 2016/17.

    Our thanks.

  6. We have given thoughts to booking the voyage from Los Angeles to Rome in 2017 but are concerned at the poor reviews that are being posted by many repeat cruisers with Oceania.

Whilst none have criticised the service or crew most relate to food and other issues.

My question is does Oceania represent Value for Money given the rating and higher cost for their cruises?

    Advice would be welcome.

  7. We are from Adelaide, Australia and joining Aurora in July for the 17 night Med Cruise. As baggage allowance is an issue for a long holiday (10 weeks) I was trying to organise dinner suit hire for use on board only to find it has closed.

Can someone advise me an alternative. We fly into London thence down to Southampton the day before boarding.

  8. Thinking about doing the 45 night cruise Los Angeles to Copenhagen however get the impression that the ship is a bit run down.

When was she last dry docked and refurbished?

We have always cruised on Princess and HAL. Will Norwegian be a totally different experience with lots of children aboard?

    Thanks for your responses.
