Was this the Bermuda cruise? The toilet problem must've been terrible!

Thanks for posting, we just came off the Joy on the Sunday you embarked. We were on a 5 day cruise with two days in Bermuda. Unfortunately, anticipated stormy weather ahead eliminated our 2nd day in Bermuda which was a bummer but we made the best of it. Ship was rolling a little bit and the "bags" were available, but none of us seemed to think it was bad at all. My mom (91yrs old) was with us. We were in the Haven but our cabin was on deck 10 aft, so it was quite the walk to Haven proper. My mom (using a walker) made numerous trips back/forth aft to forward and she was fine each day. Outdoors was ROUGH, I admired the passengers wearing hoodies or wrapped in towels making the best of very windy, chilly conditions on the outdoor pool deck. Free 75 minutes wifi package ran out quickly (like super fast) for various quirky reasons so we paid $29.99 unlimited for the last 2 days which turned out fine. I hope you're enjoying deck 10 as much as we did! Bryan was our room steward and he was beyond awesome.

Booked the Haven Aft Penthouse, leaving this April on a 5 day cruise to Bermuda on the Joy. I later second guessed the decision about being outside of Haven proper. Although I bid recently to be in the main Haven area, I don't think that's likely to happen since all those cabins are sold out online. 

Just hoping for decent weather and looking forward to the Aft views/space. If anyone has Haven aft experience, please advise.

Abibelle, what ship are you taking? We just returned on Harmony of the Seas and she is docked MUCH further away from where the other ships are docked. Based upon my research here, I also thought it would be a ten minute walk. It took approximately 1/2 hour walking briskly. It was not easy in the heat and I wouldn't recommend it. We then took #3 bus across from Porto Pi shopping center to Illetas beach (I believe 1.50euro pp). Bus transportation was great and the beach was beautiful.

Along our walk, we did notice a #1 bus. Not sure if you can take that and then transfer to the #3 at the shopping center.

Again, the location of your ship within the pier is important. In the distance, we noticed another cruise ship significantly closer to the Porto Pi shopping center. Walking to the bus stop from there was very doable.

Thank you for the quick response, Iccedown! btw, how did you get around in Marseille (taxi, shuttle, etc)? I've read about a free shuttle that operates on the weekends as well as Tuesday, so I was wondering if you noticed it.

Looking forward to the review! I hope you enjoyed the Harmony. We're sailing on her next week...

If the ship arrives in port earlier than scheduled, do the gangways open up earlier? I have a 9:30am private excursion in Marseille (ship scheduled to arrive at 9:00am).

I'm wondering the same thing. Older threads stated the Marseille port free shuttle runs on the weekends. Does anyone know if this shuttle runs more frequently in the summer months?

I should've clarified..."private" meant "on our own", not through a ship excursion. Although there may a few more passengers on this little boat tour, the company emailed me and said not to worry. They said they're aware cruise ships are in port and this happens all the time. (however, they did say to move quickly, lol)

I'm scheduled to arrive in Marseille at 9:00am, July 12 on RCCL Harmony of the Seas. I booked a private boat excursion that departs at 9:30am. It is approximately a 15 min taxi ride from the port (we arrive at mole leon and our boat tour is near the old port at Mucem).

I'm thinking I made a mistake timewise and it's too late to cancel the tour.

Is it too presumptuous to think we can disembark and make it on time????

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
