  1. We went on the excursion to Volunteer Point in the Falkland Islands! Three hours of off road driving each way to see the King Penguins! I was going to say this was my favorite day, but the truth is every day was my favorite on this cruise!

  2. I was on this excursion with you...thanks again for arranging it! You didn't mention the thrill of the boat ride back to the port...I'll never forget that! I am so enjoying your review, it is like going on the trip all over again!

     

    This was my favorite cruise and one of my best trips ever. If you get the chance GO. Every port was amazing and the Chilean fiords were stunning.

  3. Unless the call was taped or the rep had to report the responses to her calls, I can't imagine that my comments were heard by anyone with any input on the rewards program. I understand that times are tough and it was probably a good financial decision for them to reduce the benefits---but I resent them promoting the change as exciting and better as if we weren't going to figure out the reality as soon as we read the terms. An honest explanation would have been more respectful, although probably not any more popular! All in all, I'm glad to have $1000 toward my next cruise!

  4. I just had a phone call from BofA thanking me for having the NCL card!!! The woman started going on about all the benefits of the card and seemed shocked when I told her that I stopped using it when they changed the rewards program!

  5. I just got home from work and was delighted to find the BofA envelope with the "Corrected Balance" certificates inside! Hooray! I tod my husband--I'll make dinner as soon as I tell my friends [on Cruise Critic]. He laughed and said--you don't even know them but I feel like we've been through something together and supported each other and although I don't know any of you I want to say thank you, friends. Hope everyone gets their correct certificates soon and hope BofA doesn't run out of money so we can all actually use them!

  6. I'm still waiting, too! If I'm still waiting after Saturday's mail, I'll call again. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I last spoke to someone and was told I'd get an update in 5 days... But since so many of you are getting corrected mailings I'm trying to be patient [$500 is a lot of money!!!]

  7. For the account that had no charges after Dec. closing date, I got the correct certificates today without calling or writing.

     

    For my other account that I used after the closing date, I got the wrong certificates, contacted BofA about 10 days ago but nothing else has arrived yet--I'm still hopeful it will all work out without further bother, but I will persue this until it does!

  8. I don't think this is NCL's mistake. I think they redeem the certificates we send in to BofA--why would they want us to have less to use--they must get the $$$ back from the credit card company. I believe this is totally BofA's fiasco and could hurt NCL in the long run with earned certificates never cashed in on cruises that would have been scheduled if customers got their due rewards. NCL should

So, I just called the number on the back of my card...was transferred to a second person [after the first wanted to send me to World Points but I said no thanks] and had my account reviewed by a Karen who said she could verify my points and that I did earn over 500 points before 12/31/08. She said she sent it to a research team who will investigate and respond to me in 5 business days. I asked if I can expect the $500 certificate then and she said she 'that's what it looks like".

     

    I'm going to allow them time to do what was promised. I'll let you know what happens! What a mess they have created! I hope it was an honest mistake and not intentional. That would add insult to injury.

I got my "final" rewards today for 1 of our cards---earned 504 [and had confirmed that with BofA last week when we reviewed my account and agreed it was inaccurate], got 3 upgrade certificates!!! I feel like it is their error since they were able to read me the rules last week--they just didn't follow them. I will follow up on this and get my $500 certificate but it is frustrating that THEY made this huge error and WE have to prove them wrong. By now they know what they've done [even if it was a programming error some some here have suggested], should review and fix each account and do the right thing.

  11. I just checked the new rewards section at BOA and the 231 points earned from 12/11-31 are not included. I called the number on the back of my card and spoke to 2 women about the missing points. The supervisor was able to read to me that points earned until 12/31 will be credited and agreed that I'd earned 231 in that period. She said they must be doing those points manually and to allow the stated time frame to pass before thinking the points are missing. I asked who "they" were and she said BOA. She said to call 866.954.4077 if I don't have my correct certificates by 2/10/09.

     

    I hope we are all worrying for nothing and that we'll all get what we earned just like they promised.

  12. I just had a credit card cancelled yesterday for 24 months nonuse, too! That's the first time this ever happened to me---maybe something with credit card companies trying to reduce how much they could potentially go into debt? Do you think my credit score will be negatively impacted even though the company closed it?

  13. Our letters came today. I found the letter to be insulting. The line "We hope that you are as excited about the expanded reward opportunites...as we are..." implies we are all foolish enough to believe this is good news for us! We can do the math--this is a huge cut in benefits and nothing to be "excited" about. It would have been more honest to say they could no longer support the terms and this is what they can offer going forward.
