  1. Question we will be boarding next November and we are both Platinum. One in our party is not Platinum. Will they be allowed to board with us or will they need the FTTF ? Has anyone experienced this before? I also posted this on port Canaveral the port we are departing from knowing all ports do things a little different for customers.

  2. On extended cruises how and where do cruise lines maintain fresh fruit and vegetables for the entire cruise. Certain fruits and vegetables won't last. How do the cruise lines maintain freshness without reloading in foreign countries that don't meet US standards. Just curious.

  3. Looking for feedback on two itineraries. Both are 14 days. One is a Panama Canal (partial transit) on the Miracle out of Tampa. The other is a Southern Caribbean out of Canaveral on the Breeze. Same time of year (November or Decemeber).

Here are the ports for PC Partial (Miracle):

    Cozumel

    Limon

    Partial Transit

    Cartagena

    Aruba

    Curacao

    Ochos Rios

Here are the Southern Caribbean (Breeze):

    St. Thomas

    Antigua

    St. Lucia

    Grenada

    Barbados

    St. Maarten

    Tortola

    San Juan

We almost booked the Miracle but did not want to spend the whole day in the locks. And then we noticed the Breeze and booked it. We also just found out when the Breeze goes into dry dock in April it will get the new Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. So for us it was a win win situation.

  4. We are treating our parents to this cruise and my father-in-law wants to go snorkeling.

I had HAL send him a paper excursions brochure and he picked out Snuba. But reading the reviews I see they are mixed. People who wanted a SCUBA-like experience liked it, but people who just wanted to see a lot of colorful fish were disappointed. My FIL said he is in the second category so we are looking for a different option.

I'm trying to choose between the Ultimate Snorkeling and Power Snorkeling.

I'm leaning towards Power Snorkeling because it gets nothing but Very Good and Excellent reviews. I can't find a single person saying anything negative about it. Seems too good to be true.

I'm leaning away from Ultimate Snorkeling because some of the reviews say the water was too crowded with people. I don't want to be bumping into other people.

Still our number one priority is beautiful, colorful fish etc. Not sure how to compare the two excursions on this issue. I think I need someone who has tried both to advise me.

    Thanks

We did the Ultimate snorkeling and we were the only cruise ship in port so it was not crowed at all. We seen lots of fish up close and that was great because I had my GOPRO camera with me to video tape it. The only bad thing about the trip was when we went back they did not drop us off where we got on. They dropped us off way down the beach and we had to carry all our gear back to the pier. We complained to Carnival about it and they called them about the issue. We will never again use them because of that. Good luck in your choice.

  5. Just off the Valor and the American table is ok. They had a short time to adjust for but did a great job. As far as the food it is a nice change to be offered something different instead of the same old thing. I love the port day menu because it gives you a chance to try the local food. As far as the table clothes only on elegant nights I had no problem with it. Enjoy your cruise as we did and don't worry about the small things in life.

  6. Is this a CCL private island like Harvest Caye is to NCL?

It's a small secured fenced in area on the island with local vendors. Yes CCL has stated the cost to be 62 million to build. It is a nice place and is very safe but we prefer the old port Coxen Hole it shows the real island and people. here are a few pics

  7. The Omelet station On the Conquest were great. I always have a every thing omelet and then top it off with salsa and never wait more then ten minutes. They also had most of your sides like bacon, ham, toast, pancakes and some kind of potatoes.

Here is a pic form the Conquest last December

  8. Well I never comment on on items like this but I talked to a customs agent one time about this same subject one time and and he told me they could care less about open bottle. He said he could less what you bring back and it don't matter if it's open or not all he cares about if it's more then a truck load because you need to pay duty tax on it. In a nut shell your fine.

  9. My first cruise was on the Miracle in 2005. The travel agent totally gave me a bad outlook on cruising but I looked forward and made the the best of everything. I did have a great time and now I only book my cruise with Carnival PVP Steve Kondorosi. He has been fantastic in setting up all our cruise needs and always has been very professional. Thank you Carnival PS. I'm not a party person I'm 63 years old.

  12. Santaa ~ this is a cute post! My 10 year old especially would love to see this! Does the crew eventually take them away or can you keep them as chair mascots through the day?

The Conquest did this on our last day at sea and yes you could take them back to your room if you like.

  13. Here are a few as of DEC 2015

At dinner we both had a SOCO and Coke double for $11.00 each.

We also had a 1 liter bottle of SOCO ordered to our room for $75.00 and bought a soda card so we could have drinks on our balcony.
