Wow, what a difference! Our very first cruise was on the Empress. Last July we were on the Oasis for the first time. and sailing on her again in 22 days.
-
We were on the Oasis for the very first time, last July. I can say we were both disappointed with most of the food choices in the MDR. It wasn't so much that the food was bad, it just wasn't great. We will be sailing on the Oasis again this July. Hoping that new menu rolls out before then.

Can you bring an extension cord? I need one for my CPAP machine.
Royal Caribbean will provide an extension cord and the distilled water, if you let them know at least 30 days before your cruise.

What ship and itinerary? I may have a link to a Cruise Compass.
Oasis -- 7 night Eastern Caribbean (St Maarten, San Juan, Labadee)

We've found that we can just walk up for lunch at Giovanni's.
Thank's, Bob! Do you happen to know their lunch hours? I can't find anything about lunch at Giovanni's on RC's website.
-
Is Giovanni's open every day for lunch? We will be on the Oasis starting July 2nd. I've been waiting for our friends booking # so I could make dinner reservations for the 4 of us. Of course, nothing is available all week. :-( Lunch would be a great option. Is it just walk up, no ressies?

I am on this sailing as well. There is some concern on our roll call that the other shows are being held for a large group (somewhere over 1000 guests) or that they are taking over the venues...
Sounds like a rumor to me! Hope so:eek:
Well, I am a member of the group you are referring to and I can assure you that no shows are being held for us. Our group's "concerts" are being worked around Oasis's entertainment schedule.

Thanks for the quick reply. Maybe if I tell this person I read it on cruisecritic, whe will finally believe me. :-)

I'm 99.9 % positive that the packages are per/person. Not everyone in the cabin has to buy a package or even the same package.
-
Oh good, glad I'm not the only one. We are on the Oasis, July 2 cruise. I saw that the 2 shows were listed yesterday afternoon. I may just go ahead and book them, although they are my least favorite. When the others open up and can always change my times, if needed.

Just a side note. The 12:30 pm Mass on Saturday is just that, a Saturday Mass. It does not fulfill the Sunday obligation. But I feel it's definitely the thought that counts and attending Mass is better than not. You could always get a dispensation since you're traveling.

Thanks for the quick replies. Just what I thought but I was having a heck of a time finding it of rcl's website.
-
I know that the Oasis offers My Time Dining. Just want to verify that Dynamic Dining is not available, correct?
-
Thanks for your replies and suggestions!
Is it at least safe to say that nothing will open up until we get closer to that 120 day mark? There's not any chance of it opening during the remainder of 2015? We have some first time cruisers that are very excited and a bit overwhelmed about all this. Trying to put their mind at ease.

Just got off the Oasis on Saturday. I booked this cruise only 20 days before we sailed and immediately booked most of our shows and dining. Some had to be done when we embarked. To my surprise had very few issues getting what we wanted.
Now, we have been booked for another cruise, since last March, on the Oasis for July 2016. At what point will I be able to start making reservations? Also, can I assume that the cruise must be paid in full before I can do anything?
-
We were also on the Oasis, July 11th cruise. We saw very few crowds throughout the week. Maybe 5 people in line for the flow rider at any given time. Same with the zip line. The pools were very busy on sea days but we expected that and planned around it. We have many photos where just a handful of people in them.
Biggest crowds we saw were lines at show times and in the Prom area when the "sales" were going on.
Another family traveling with us said they were just amazed how "uncrowded" it felt all week with that many pax on board.

Thank you so much. I've been looking all over their website for it. LOL

Looking for an emergency phone # for RCI to call on departure day. We will be on the Oasis. Hopefully, we will not need it. Unfortunately, a few years ago we missed the first 3 days of a HAL cruise and the emergency # was extremely helpful.
Is there a number for RCI at the port?
-
Thanks so much for the info! One other quick question. Are there still BOGO milkshakes at JR's? :D
-
My DH and I haven't been on a RCI cruise since '99. We are both Gold. I am assuming the coupons are per cabin, not per person.
-
Thanks for the quick replies. This is our first time on the Oasis and visiting St. Thomas.
-
Does the Oasis always dock at Crown Bay? If not, can anyone supply the link so I can check my date. I thought I had it in my favorites but can't find it.
-
Thank you all for your comments! My biggest concern, I think, was that RCL would turn him away. We saw that happen but that was back in the 90's. He's good with dress pants, white shirt and tie. He just really doesn't want to bring that suit this time. I think it's that laid back feeling he gets when we're in the Caribbean. LOL
It's just the 2 of us and we have My Time Dining so I'm assuming we will be seated by ourselves.
activity waivers and wrist band?
in Royal Caribbean International

If I have already signed the waivers before my cruise, will that info be on my sail pass? Someone in our group thought we needed to get a wrist band before doing any of the activities. Is it good for the week?
