We used Rome Cabs in August to get from the port to the airport. I found they were very easy to communicate and they sent promptly a confirmation. They also sent another confirmation before our arrival. You always wonder if your ride will be there. This greatly helped us feel secure. Our driver was there waiting for us. He was courteous. The car was spotless. He spoke English well. He shared soccer stories and spoke about Italy to us to keep us entertained. It was a smooth ride to the airport. We would highly recommend and hope to use them again soon.

This year we booked Carnival Palace Hotel which is also close to a stop,

If I was on this itinerary I would go early to see Venice.  It’s lovely and not to be rushed. Board the ship and go see Ravenna.  A beautiful city known for mosaics

We are doing a similar cruise- we have the 2 days Venice/Ravenna. We have 3 nights at Venice. Did you choose your own hotel or did you book with Celebrity? We are having some difficulty getting the Celebrity shuttle? I don’t understand why. They are saying they provide the shuttle only if you arrive that day by plane.

So just wondering?

We are not staying at a Celebrity hotel. If you booked your cruise directly with Celebrity, then they will book your shuttle. If you book your flights wth Celebrity and arrive the day your cruise, then you can get a shuttle at the airport. If you are dealing with a TA, then they book the shuttle for you.

We were a group of 4 adults with large luggage’s and carry ones. We took the vaporetto. It wasn’t a problem. After we got off our hotel was a short walk away, so it was easy to roll the luggage. 
The first time we were in Venice, we chose a hotel and did not think of how to get to the hotel as we had relatives picking us up. We did not realize there were so many steps/ bridges to get to the hotel.

We then chose a hotel in Mestre- 10 minute bus ride into Venice- made travelling into Venice so much easier.

This trip, our friend went on Google Earth and mapped the hotel location so we knew it was a quick walk from the vaporetto.

Was the Drive Amalfi tour organized by your ship or was organized by you?

If it is a private tour could you please send the info?
