    I will be following along.

Anybody staying in Seattle before the cruise?

Any recommendations for a hotel near Pikes Market?

We are booked at the Hyatt at Olive 8 and will let you know how it is once we arrive on Saturday.  It is a few blocks from Pikes Market.

Thank you so much for creating this "Live from Majestic Princess" thread and to all the other contributors as you cruise along.

So many questions as we follow along. Does the OM medallion work without bugs? Do you really have to make reservations for many, if not all, events - which kinda takes some of the fun out of spontaneity.

Looking forward to many answers to questions that are all still unknown right now

The medallion app is certainly not without issues but they are working diligently to try and fix all issues.  That said, we are 5 days out and my husband cannot access it at all.  No worries though, we will get on the ship eventually.  And yes, you must make a resort for all activities as of now.  Spontaneity may return at some point but it seems to have disappeared for right now.  Just keep checking the app daily in journeyview to we what events are available for your cruise.  Ours showed up about 2-3 weeks out.  Make sure you a running the most recent updated app and don’t be surprised if you have to delete and reinstall a few times.

  2. This will be our first time in Aruba. We dock on 1/25/19 and are thinking of booking an excursion to DePalm Island and getting a private cabana/palapa. Is it worth the $$. Through our ship the excursion would cost approximately $160 per person. DePalm tours price is almost the same and doesnt include transportation.

Or is there something else we should be looking to to or booking?

    Thanks.

  3. We are cruising to Bermuda with my parents in October of 2018 and are hoping to be able to book a a tour around St. George but my dad, although very able to walk, cannot walk any amount of distance at all and is not very steady on his feet anymore. We usually bring along his transport chair (think lightweight wheel chair that has to be pushed by someone other than the user), but I have read that alot of St. George has cobblestone streets and alot of hills.

Anyone know of a company that will drive us around St. George and point out the historic and interesting sights. We would prefer a half-day tour (3 hours or so) rather than a full day tour.

    Thanks.

  4. We are going to be in Tortola in December on the Disney Magic and my daughter, son and his girlfriend (all adults) would love to snorkel with some sea turtles. Any recommendations?

Our cruise ship has snorkeling to Norman Island and another location, but they were really hoping for some sea turtles.

Also, the baths are out because one of them is claustrophobic (and we will be in port with a P&O cruise ship) and one of us is, well, we like to call it Winnie the Pooh sized lol ..... so not walking up and down rocks etc and in tight spaces.

My husband and I will be in Tortola in September with friends and we are deciding between CGB and Brewers based on reviews here.

    Thanks for your help.

  5. At last report you could still access it, but signs are posted prohibiting removal of any sea glass.

There is a beach near St. George where at last report you can still take some sea glass. I don't recall the details (name, location, etc.) so perhaps someone else can provide them.

Thanks. If we have time, we will try there. We are staying in Bermuda not cruising so bringing home a few new pieces would not be a problem. And what is wrong with people that they have to ruin the fun for everyone else.....I mean taking bags of glass! So not right :(

  6. Is there no more access to sea glass beach which was a bit of a walk from the dockyard? We went there with our kids years ago and they found some pretty glass. I was hoping to visit the site again and add a piece or two to our collection. I heard there is security there now...is this true?? Any other place in bermuda to actually find sea glass? Not to buy it....kinda takes the fun out of it.

  7. My husband and son are looking to golf in Barbados before heading to the beach. Anyone know anything about this course...is it a decent course for slightly better than average golfers (not hackers really lol)? Anyone know how much the cab ride would be? Thanks.

  8. Anyone have any information about this course? Our cruise has an excursion to this golf course but the reviews on trip advisor say the fairways are very very dry....not sure what to do. Golf here or in Barbados. Thanks.

  9. I read on cc about a private spice tour taken by a husband/wife and their 17 yo son...they went to the market, Laura Minor, nutmeg factory and then ended with lunch. I cannot find the post and would love to look into this tour.

Anyone have any idea who they booked with or where that post it?

    Thanks.

  10. We have the option of taking a catamaran to view the piton and then stopping at pigeon island for two hours or taking a larger boat and snorkeling beneath the pitons...which would you prefer to do and why? We are not big snokeling fans, but think the beach beneath the pitons might be nicer than pigeon island...need some advice for our first time in St. Lucia....thanks.

  11. If you had an option to take a catamaran to see the pitons and then spend 2 hours at Pigeon Island for swimming/sightseeing or a larger boat to see the pitons and snorkel beneath the pitons and spend time at the beach there..which would you do and why?

We are not snorkeling type folks, but want to see the pitons and do some swimming. Just not sure if pigeon island has chairs and shade...I am very fair skinned and burn easily lol

    Thanks.

  12. My son and his gf want to do the Atlantis waterpark when we are in Nassau in January on the Disney Dream...do you think it will be too cold in January for a waterpark? Are the pools/slides heated (lol) sorry but had to ask. Its very expensive for them both to go, but it is something she would like to do. How cold do you think it may be and how crowded do you think it could be. Thanks.

  13. Our cruise line offers the graycliff chocolate factory tour .... You get to make your own chi layers and bring them home for $60 each including transportation...do you think it is worth the money for two adults? And how close is the rum factory?
