  1. I am from Nova Scotia, and always pay the American rate on my Canadian credit card, and just suck it up.... It's the price we pay for our free health care I guess. We even thought about possible cancelling our cruise (that leaves in nine short days from today) when the Canadian dollar tanked vs the US Greenback in late August. But decided what the heck, let's go anyway.

One trip a few years ago, the Canadian dollar was trading at just over a dollar (I think it was like 1.05) but with the credit card fee for purchasing a US commodity, we STILL ended up paying more that our American shipmates.

It is what it is.... Somethings are less expensive in Canada because of the exchange rate, sometimes they are more.

  2. Sulberry,

No extra for tax. $280 total - that's it.

Thanks everyone, I have not told my husband yet since he is at work. I'm sure he will ask if it is worth the extra money and wanted some back up from my CC buds! I am pretty stoked and will definitely enjoy.

    Happy cruising everyone!

I did and upgrade once from an ocean view to a balcony, and wanted to NOT tell my wife until we got to the ship..... I kept it to myself for about two weeks, but could hardly sleep with the anticipation of surprising her at the port..... I told her, and then I was able to sleep again.

Since then we have only ever booked balcony cabins.

I'm not enough of a gambler to try a guarantee cabin, and hope for an upgrade.... My luck I would be stuck in an inside cabin beside the engine room.

  3. If on shore and using free wifi can I text for free? I will be in San Juan, St Thomas, Barbados, St Kitts and St Marteens. Thanks

I have been in all those ports, and I used my iPhone set in Airplane mode, with wifi switched back on, without any issues... If you switch Airplane mode off, then it will default to cellular data, and you will get big roaming data charges....

So short answer, "yes, you can do it, just be careful what signal you are using"

  4. has anyone very recently returned sailing on the splendor and has some good tips or hints? We are going on the November 15 2015 sailing. Have sailed carnival before but not this ship. Thanks for any input.

You are on the same sailing with me, and my wife.... come on over to the roll call, and meet some of the other cruisers that will be on that sailing as well.

This will be our sixth Carnival Cruise, but our first on Splendor....

Splendor has been teasing us for the past couple of months, coming into Halifax... we live about an hour outside of that city, so we have seen her a lot lately, but not as close up as we will be on the 15th of November.

I would be interested in some hints and tips as well.... we have sailed on Valor, Freedom (twice), Inspiration, and Victory, and the layout of Splendor is pretty much the same as "most" of the others, with only a few minor location changes... and Inspiration is a smaller ship, so it's layout is VERY different.

  5. 38 days till my cruise.....sail date Nov 15. I can't figure out why I dont even get a reply back.. I originally sent my request to fttfinfo@carnival.com with all the info in the subject line, ship, sail date, last name, booking number. I get no response at all from them. First request was sent on Aug 8, second request sent Last week and again this week. Never got a reply .....nothing.:(:(

What ship are you on, we are sailing the same date, on Splendor....

  6. I got the same reply last week, and we are sailing on November 15, I am hoping that "closer to the sailing date" means this week, but I'm not holding my breath either.

Last weeks I noticed that FttF was available to book for my cruise in November.... I booked it, and waited two full days, but never got another email from Carnival letting me know it was available, so I emailed them and told them I saw it and had booked it.... They sent me back an email thanking me for letting THEM know.

  7. This is the message I received about 3 weeks ago. Anyone have any idea of when "closer to your sailing date" actually is?

  8. There is a big difference between an upgrade and an upsell. With an upgrade you get a better cabin for no extra charge. With an upsell you pay to get a better cabin. Sometimes an upsell is a good price but in the last year or so the upsell price is close to the current difference between what you paid and the upgraded room price. What the OP is referring to is an Upsell.

Sorry but the Upgrade Fairy is on life support and the Upsell Fairy has taken over.

    Take care,

    Mike

Well yes, in this case there is a difference between and upgrade, and an upsell..... But think about this, if you are in the market for a new car, and you look at a Kia, but then later decide instead to UPGRADE to a Ferrari, do you expect to still pay the Kia price? It's still an upgrade, you just need to pay more to get it.... Semantics, call it what you want, I think it's still an UPGRADE... No one ever said it was gonna be at no extra charge.

  9. Carnival normally just calls about a month out from the cruise. 90% of the time they are trying to sell you. Twice they have called to move us to a better cabin at no charge.

What Carnival is trying to do is upsell you to a more expensive Cabin so that the cheaper ones are then available to sell to the folks that may be looking but don't want to spend a lot... If they can get you to move up, then yours will be available to sell to someone else, and then hopefully fill the ship.

Sometimes they do it for free, sometimes there's a charge. On our first cruise on Freedom, they moved us from the Main deck (#2) to the Spa deck for FREE... both ocean view rooms in those days, with floor to ceiling, wall to wall glass on the Spa deck rooms. We loved that room! So much so, that on our second cruise on Freedom we booked the same room again, but alas it has been renovated to a balcony... but now we are hooked on balconies...

  10. My personal choice would be to ask your table mates if they mind you sharing grace with them. Most "normal" people would accept you invitation, without complaint, but at the same time I would not "force" the issue.

If they do object, perhaps you could say your grace before you enter the dining room. I do not know your exact religion, nor do I need to, that is between you and your God.

If it is a part of your religion to say your prayer over the meal then this option would not work, but if it is not necessary to say the prayer over the meal, but simply before consumption begins, then as you enter the dining room may work for you, without upsetting your table mates.

If you were at my table, I would welcome your grace.

  11. My wife also has a severe latex allergy, and as such she too wears a medic alert... all I have ever seen on our 5 cruises so far are the NITRILE gloves being used, if any at all.

The problem with gloves being used in food service is that they give a false sense of cleanliness to the wearer, but can transmit far more germs etc., than would bare hands. At least if the server is bare handed, and they get "something" on their hands they will wash them.... got something on a glove, and you / they might not notice it since their clean hand is inside the protection of the glove, and thereby cross contaminate some other food stuffs...

You - working in the medical field - would know to change your gloves between patients, that doesn't happen in the food service industry if they are wearing gloves, and that causes all kinds of food allergens to cross contaminate food to be consumed by unsuspecting diners.

Personally I hate seeing gloves used in food service for just that reason.

  12. I have done this itinerary twice now, and speaking from experience, SJU can be a zoo on Debarkation day... Flying in before noon on Sunday should be fine, but stay an extra day in Old San Juan at thee end of your cruise, and fly home on Monday when the airport is less zoo like.

Plus this gives you a chance to explore Old San Juan on debarcation day!

Check and see how many other ships will be debarking the same day, and multiply that number of ships by 3000 passengers, and you can imagine the back logs at the airport.

If you are planning to fly home on Sunday, get off the ship asap once you are docked, and get your butt over to the airport right away. And don't forget that ALL of your bags need to be x rayed at the agricultural check point BEFORE you check in with your airline... No exceptions!

  13. Also, in San Juan.... They check for "adult" beverages a fair distance from where they actually confiscate them till the end of your trip, so you have quite a bit of time to remove the sticker they will put on your bag at security check, before you get to the drop off location, amd then just keep walking on board with your selections.

    If you are so inclined.

You will need to be back on board by (I think) 7:00 PM, and be ready for muster drill.

    Have a great cruise...

  14. Carnival Valor... Cruise from San Juan PR on March 30, 2014

I am sharing these thoughts as I sit at the San Juan airport, waiting to go home.... I will have to wait until I get to another airport, or home to actually post it, since SJU does not have airport wide WI-FI, and I'm not willing to pay the ransom at Margaritaville to use theirs....

We purchased faster to the fun, so that we could disembark earlier, and avoid the craziness that is SJU in "cruise day"... Read on, and you will see why I have time at the airport to type an entire review at an airport gate.

We arrived at the Halifax airport two hours before our flight, breezed through check in and security, then had some lunch in the US Departure lounge, awaiting the arrival of our plane. The inbound flight was on time, unloaded their passengers, and the quickly loaded us, and the rest of the passengers, bound for Philly. Since it was a beautiful sunny day, I wondered why, after being pushed back from the gat, they took the plane to the de-icing station. It turned out that there was a delay in Philly due to weather, so they were making us wait to leave, we sat for 45 minutes on the plane, on the Tarmac... Finally we were on our way! Good thing we had a 2-1/2 hour layover in Philly. The flight was a bit rough, but we were on our way.

Once we arrived in Philly, we made our way from terminal "C" to Terminal "A" through the Philly Airport Shopping Mall... Why are there so many fancy stores at hat airport? Do people just go there to shop sometimes? I find it strange.

The flight from Philly to San Juan was uneventful - that's a good thing! We arrived at SJU right on time. Found our luggage and made our way to the Airport Hotel to check in for the night.

(Note to self, next time in San Juan DO NOT stay the the airport hotel).

While it was supposed to be just a place to rest our heads for the night, that's ALL it was...

Painter concrete walls, indoor / outdoor carpeting throughout, and even though we were on the top floor, gravity was not helping the tub or the bathroom sink to drain.... And the view from our room was great, if you like looking at AC units on the roof of an airport! But then again it was supposed to be just a bed for the night, and that is all it was.

We got up around 8:00 AM on Sunday March 30, and took advantage of the included breakfast, then went to the airport departure area for some delicious Puerto Rican coffee, and to do a bit of "people watching" and to make our plan for next Sunday when we make our trip home.

We checked out around 10:00 and grabbed a cab to go to the cruise port. $21.00 flat rate from the airport to the cruise port regardless of number of passengers, plus $1.00 per bag.

We got to the port at @ 10:30, and got in line with the other passengers. We had a group on another "face" site that we aren't allowed to mentioned here, but that really helped to know (in advance) who some of the other passengers were. We Immediately recognized Rick and his wife Kim, and they pointed out Ken and Brandi. While we're were in line talking to them, there was two other couples that overheard our conversation, and introduced themselves to us... They only live about an hour away from us! Small world.

We were trough the check in process by about 10:50, very quick! Then we sat and waited. While sitting to be called to board the ship, we met Debbie and her husband and their grand daughter Amanda from Dallas and several other members of our FB group.

By 11:30 we were on board. We took our carry on bags to our room, and headed back to Old San Juan. We went across the street to the Sheridan for lunch at the Chicago burger Company..... Mmmmmmm very good! After our last land based lunch for a few days, we went to the CVS and stocked up on a few last minute items. Soda was on sale at 2 x 8 packs for $5.00.

We made our way back to the ship to explore... We've travelled on Freedom, and Victory in the past, so we know our way around, but still wanted to have a good look around while the ship was still basically empty. We spent a few hours in the Serenity area on deck 12, then we went to the Aft pool for a 4:30 informal meet and greet. One of our fellow group people had some can Koozies made up, so we collected ours from Neil, and reimbursed him for his expenses.

We all disbursed after the meet and greet, and had (in advance) made arrangements to meet up again for open seating dining in the Washington dining room. We met up (a dozen or so of us) at the agreed upon 7:00 PM time, the the folks at the door said they knew nothing about it, but they would do what they could for us..... They took the 12 of us to two large round tables for 10.... So 10 at one table, two at another????? We moved two chairs over and managed to fit all 12 around the same table.... It was fun.

Later we found our that another bunch of our group showed up a few moments after they had seated us, and were told "we don't have any other groups tonight". ***, the had JUST seated us.... The other part of our group were seated directly below us, at 2 large round tables. That was unfortunate.

    March 31, 2014

We arrived in St Thomas right on time.... We had booked the Champaign Cat to St. John, which leaves late in the morning, so after breakfast we got off the ship and went into the port for a bit of shopping.... Back on board for an early lunch, then back to the dock to meet up with the tour.

There were two other couples from our "ship faced" group taking the same tour, we me up with them in the line. We were taken by bus to the other side of St. Thomas, where we were split into two groups, our three couples managed to stay on the same bunch, so that we could travel together. Half of the large group were boarded onto the "Champaign" catamaran the second half (the bunch we were in) were boarded upon the "Adventuress". We set sail from St. Thomas, heading to St. John on our catamarans right on schedule. After a short motorized ride we arrived at Honeymoon Beach in St. John, where we were given just over an hour to snorkel, or we could be taken ashore via inflatable dinghy if you didn't want to snorkel. I wanted to snorkel, and my wife wanted to just go float by the beach. As soon as they lowered the ladder from the cat, Barry made his presence known. (Barry is a Barracuda). He was about three foot long, and just circled around just below the surface, all around the ladder. The tour guides assured is that if we left him alone, he would leave us alone. So off we went to try to find some sea turtles, fish and coral to see. After about 45 minutes of snorkelling, I joined my wife near the beach, and waited for the inflatable dinghy to come pick us, and others up to go back to the cat. On the way back to St. Thomas, the crew set the sails, and turned off the engines for a peaceful, quiet sail back to the cruise ship. It was a wonderful excursion.

That night we went to the dining room for late dining (our assigned time) to meet our wait team, and to better get to know our table mates (four women from Texas).

After supper we went to the main show lounge for the "welcome aboard" show (which is exactly the same as it has been on all of out other trips with Carnival).

Tuesday was the first (and last) sea day. We just lounged around most of the day, until 3:00 PM, when we had a pre paid meet and drink party booked for our "ShipFaced FB" group. It was fairly well attended. The lady who organized the party had birthday cake, and beads for everyone who attended. (Good job April ! ). There were a few sets of beads left over, so some of the young ladies competed for the last of the beads (Mardi Gras style).

That evening was "Elegant Night" and the captains evening. After returning from the meet and drink party we went to our room to put on our "finery", and headed to deck 5 (the Promenade deck) to do some people watching.

The captain a,d ranking officers were on deck 5 near the casino stage to meet the passengers, if you wished to, you could get your picture taken with them.

We went to dinner again at our assigned time, and ended up sitting at our table for six, all by ourselves. Dinner was delicious.

After dinner we went to the aft lounge on Deck 5 to see the comedians, and stayed for both of the adults only shows. Both comedians were very funny. (Drink service was very poor, I ended up having to go to the bar - after a 15 minutes wait and ask for our drinks... The waiter was magically able to find us with the bill to be signed though! )

Wednesday morning we arrived in Barbados, along with several other ships. I say on our balcony admiring the sea, when, all of the sudden, I heard tires squealing on the dock area, I turned around to see a small blue car that was semi air born after hitting a curb, smash into the back of a waiting tour bus. Several security people came over to check on the drivers, and then about 10 minutes later an ambulance arrived. Then the police arrived. All in all the response time was very slow. I don't know what (exactly) caused to collision, but I did see the final result.

After breakfast, we exited the ship, and looked through the shops for a few moments, and I purchased a wide brimmed hat, so that my sunburned fore head and ears did not get any more burnt. After or little shopping excursion we went outside so that the cab drivers could fight over who was going to take us to the Boatyard. After about 10 minutes of the dispatcher telling the drivers to back off, we found a cab that was ready to go... A few moments later we were at the Boatyard, and paid our $15.00 pp ransom for the chairs, umbrella and drink. It was a beautiful day, but I wish that we had travelled to the beach with another couple... All the folks that we knew, we scattered all over the beach in chairs.... We were around the middle area, Diane and her hubby were at the left hand end, and Scott and Cheryl were at the far right.... We were not permitted to move our chairs around, and if we gave them up, someone else would have claimed them... So we stayed put around the middle of the beach, enjoying the music, drinks, and the water as well.

We headed back to the ship early after lunch, and went straight to the Aft pool, and the hot tubs. That was very relaxing, nice and quiet, almost like having the ship to ourselves.

Supper that evening was in the main dining room again, and was as delicious as expected.

After supper we went to the show in the main show lounge. Carnival has all new shows on the Valor, with the exception of the "Welcome Aboard" show. If you like 80's music rock and roll, then you will enjoy the new shows...

Thursday morning we were up early so that I could see the Pitons in St. Lucia as we sailed past on our way to Basseterre. Unfortunately, not early enough. When I looked out from the balcony all I could see was the top of Gros Piton, behind the test of the island.

All is good though, we were booked for the "Top 10 of St. Lucia" tour from Carnival, which was a us ride through the county side to Soufriere, where we could see the Pitons. The tour was very good... We travelled along through the mountain tops, and valleys seeing several small communities and beautiful vistas. We stopped at a botanical garden to have a closer look at some of the lovely flowers, and to see some of the fruits that grow on the island. Finally, they took us through the "drive through volcano". We stopped to take a few pictures of the sulphur pots, and to see the mud baths.

On the return trip to the ship, we stopped at a hill top restaurant where you could purchase some lunch, or a couple of Piton Beers 2/$5.00. And they had a viewing platform that you could see across a valley to take some wonderful pictures of the pitons.

We headed back to the ship on the same route that took us there (only one road through that area). On the way back, my wife was feeling a bit of motion sickness from being on the roller coaster that was the road. We saw several other mini busses that were stopped, with people outside throwing up. We got back to the ship just before sail away. It was a very long excursion. If you suffer with motion sickness, this is NOT the tour to go on!

On Friday (St. Kitts day) we awoke at 6:15 hearing the "Operatin Black Star, Operation Black Star, Operation Black star, cabin #**** " announcement... Not a good thing to hear on the ship... I am not sure of the exact meaning, but it is either a critical medical emergency, or a fatality... Either way, it's not good. Debarkation was delayed for about an hour that morning, but no one would say exactly why.

We were booked to go at 11:00 AM for zip lining, we got off the ship, and went to the excursion meeting point at about 10:50, because of the delay of everyone getting off the ship, the 10:30 group had still not left the meeting point yet... We signed our lives away, stepped onto the scales that lie, and then sat to wait for our turn to go. Finally about 11:45 we were on our way to Uncle Millie's taxi (mini bus). It's about a 45 minute ride to the zip line site, and you can tell that Uncle Millie is very proud of his island. He kept us informed about what was being seen outside the tour bus.

We arrived at the zip line site (Wingfield estates). We went to the welcome centre, and were told what would be happening, starting with the bathroom break, so that no one had to water the rain forest as we zipped across). We were then directed to the equipment building where we were all fitted with harnesses and helmets and then taken to the training run. We were taught the correct flying position, and also the most important part, the braking position. If you don't use the proper braking position, when you come up against the braking springs, you could hit your head on your trolley, or your knees on the cables.

After the training we boarded the bus (open backed 4x4 truck) for the ride to the top of the mountain. It was a very bumpy ride up, but we were assured that the trip back down would be much smoother. We finally reached the top, and proceeded to the first zip line.... It was the highest (about 250 feet above to tree tops of the valley below), the longest (about 1600 feet across), and the slowest of all the lines.

I got to release the handle to send my wife along the way. We both did very well, no screaming, and only one "Oh Jesus," from here.

Once we had done all the lines back down to the bottom, there was one set of lines left... It was called the "River runner" I think, and it was a double line, where we could race each other to the bottom.... I took an early lead, but when it was all said and done, I bounced farther back up at the bottom "spring break" and Brenda managed to touch the platform first.

I highly recommend this excursion, It was something that we wanted to do, and we really enjoyed it.

That night was supper in the dining room again, and it was superb.

Saturday morning we awoke just as we arrived in Philipsburg in St. Maarten. We were booked for a 9:00 AM "Best of St. Maarten and beach break" tour through Carnival. The tour left right on schedule... The driver Rrrr rapheil appears to lve his country as well... He was very informative, and entertaining. We learned a lot of island history on the way to Orient beach. We had a 90 minutes stop at Orient Beach to "see the sights" so to speak. The beach was beautiful, the water was warm, the wind was very strong, and the sights..... Very disappointing. The sight you would want to see, were covered, the ones that were uncovered, you really didn't want to see. And to top it all off, Men in thongs is just wrong in every country, I don't care where you are from!

Over all we enjoyed our tour of St Maarten, and St. Martin.

That night after supper we went to the Carnival Legends show, which was as good as we expected, then went back to our room, to set our bags in the hallway, for collection to be taken into the port in the morning.

We woke up at 6:00 AM on Sunday, showered, got coffee, and went to the lounge on deck three to await the FTTF departure from the ship. As Canadians we do not qualify for self Debarkation , and needed to check our large bags, but took our carry one with us. We were off the ship by 8:15, and headed for the airport.

I also found out today that the Operation Black Star on the St. Kitts day was in fact a death through the night. A gentleman in his forties with a pre existing health condition had passed on around 4 AM, and was discovered around 6:00 AM when his wife awoke for the day. So very sad.

Upon arrival at the airport we immediately went through the agriculture check, Checking in our large bags, and headed to "Black Coffee" for some breakfast. Then through two more levels of security checks, and we are now sitting at gate 6 waiting for our flight home.

As we are sitting we hear that our flight is delayed... 4-1/2 hours.... No longer leaving at 2:40, now it will be 7:20 PM, due to "maintenance" being performed on the aircraft before it arrives here in San Juan... This also means that we will miss our connection in Philly to go to Halifax... The airline is offering to put us up in a hotel overnight in Philly, and putting us on the first flight from Philly to Halifax in the morning. Instead of arriving at 11:30 tonight we won't arrive home until 12:50 tomorrow afternoon.

Update from the airline.... We don't leave SJU until 8:44 PM now! A SIX hour delay, and the lovely lady at the gate (I know it's not her fault, but ...) all she ca say or will say is that the replacement aircraft is in the air, on its way here, and should arrive at 7:50, will need to unload, then they can board us and get us on our way by 8:44.... She has advised that we need to contact customer relations via email or snail mail for any "possible" additional compensation...

I am not a happy cruiser.... Six hours later and we "might" be on our way home.

So far it has cost me $50.00 for food while waiting to get out of San Juan.... $42.00 for two burgers two fries, and two diet cokes..... Plus an additional $8.00 for two bottles of water. And that's just for two of us.... There is a family of five that are going deeper and deeper in debt as I type this, just keeping their kids fed...

It is now supper time, I'm a diabetic, and again will be forced to purchase another over priced meal that US Airways does not want to compensate me for.

We have sat at gate D6 since 9:30, and have watched three other US Airways flights leave for Philly, all of them were overbooked, and people got left behind.

There was one family of three that volunteered to give up their seats on one of the earlier flights, and were very well compensated. Their nice jest urge managed to get another family of three home today. The volunteers got re booked on flights tomorrow, with confirmed seats (rumoured to be in first class) plus put up at a beach front hotel here in San Juan, plus meal vouchers for the hotel, and $600.00 in future travel vouchers.

All we were offered is a hotel in Philly that we will probably not have enough time to really sleep in, before we have to make our way to the gate to catch our flight in the morning.

Plus as I mentioned before, we have to pay for our own meals, and now an additional day of Parking at the Halifax airport.

US airways needs to rethink their customer service gate guidelines.

This WILL be the LAST time I ever book with US Airways, or any of its affiliates.

We really enjoyed our trip, other than the last flying part, cruising is the best way to travel, if you want to see many different countries in one vacation.

  15. Saving my place, we leave on the valor march 30th and am so ready.....

DW and I will be on the same sailing with you on March 30... You should join our roll call.... We also have a page on another face page site that shall remain nameless cause you are not allowed to mention it here.... But if you go to that face type page and search for "carnival Valor March 30, 2014 you will find a large (crazy) group that will also be on the same sailing.

  16. We will be on the Valor in a few weeks (March 30). We are booked in a Lido balcony for the same reason.... Nice and high, and forward for the good views. And nice and close to the Lido deck action.

Last year we were in a Spa Deck balcony room on Freedom, and loved the peace and quite of being so high up, and so far forward...

We did the same southern itinerary on the Victory a couple of years ago, so when we were picking the cabin for this cruise, we realized that the starboard (right hand) side of the ship will have the best views of the islands as you arrive in the morning....

    So we are booked starboard.

  17. Since you are one big family, I would suggest booking just one, in the name of one of the adults, and then use the luggage tags of that room for everyone in your party of 6.... All the bags will get delivered quickly to that one room, and you can disperse later, to the other room.... Also, you can all take your carry on bags to that one "ready" room as well.... Your family members that are in the "other" room will have to board with the masses, but they will have a place to drop their bags early....

  18. So, the drinking age in Nassau is 18?

    Interesting........

    Anyone know about Cozumel?

    Inquiring minds want to know.....

The last time I was in Cozumel, they waiter in Margaritaville offered to serve my (then) 15 year old daughter... She respectfully said "no thanks" and ordered a coke.

I thing that if you can see over the bar, they will serve you there.

  19. Thanks for the awesome review Katie.... a great light-hearted read.

Could I ask you a question, what was directly across from room 6212?

We're book in 6210 and trying to figure out what the big empty "white-space" is on all the deck plans we've seen. Storage space???

Many thanks and KEEP CRUISIN' :)

Those big white "empty" spaces could be anything from storage to guest laundry rooms, or even crew cabins. There is no real way to know.

When are you sailing on the Valor? I see you are from Halifax, We are from the Annapolis Valley, and are Sailing on March 30, 2014.

  20. I purchased the last one left (according to website) yesterday for my cruise. as to the following though:

But when your cruise is over, you may choose an early or late disembarkation time upon arrival to your homeport.

Does anybody know what time frames are typically associated with early & late disembarkation?

Also, wondering if it's appropriate to have some leeway as to actual departure time or are you 'locked into' the one you selected. Not planning on dragging our feet, we typically skip breakfast the last day but manage to vacate cabin well before 8 am.

Apologies if this has been addressed, wasn't able to search.

Even with the faster to the fun you still have to vacate the room ASAP. They will need to start cleaning and remaking the room for the next guests! So even if you chose to leave the ship late, you will need to be out early.
