We'll be stopping in Malaga in the fall and are interested in visiting the Alhambra in Granada. I'm wondering how many stairs there are in the Alhambra as my mother has osteoarthritis and has a hard time with lots of stairs. She's ok with a few and flat surfaces.

Also are there benches and places to sit in Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens?

One of the world's foremost aquascaper 's Takashi Amano just set up an exhibit. If I was anywhere close to Lisbon, I would check it out.

I use a duotang with plastic "pouches" to separate. One for all flights, one for hotels, then by port. My first page is a word doc summary with flight and hotel info and on the back is a printed calendar with hand written notes, usually just on the days we have a tour scheduled so there's not a lot on that sheet. I post the calendar in the cabin so I can see what's coming up (and keep track of days).

If you are coming in the summer, I don't think you'll need a lot of warm clothes. Nights and early mornings will be cold, but mid day could have good weather.

I have a friend who bought a waterproof jacket at a thrift store for $7. She was doing an Alaska cruise and isn't really a "Gortex girl" despite living in Vancouver (actually I got rid of my gortex jackets a decade ago). she didn't want to spend a lot on something she wasn't going to get a lot of wear from.

She took a few wool cardigans that she already owned to layer (1 thinner, 1 thick one)

I carry it on, but don't have a lot of liquids. I take a liquid tinted moisterizer with spf, mascara, lip gloss. Everything else is a solid. My hair stuff is usually liquid (shampoo, conditioner, styling creme, hairspray).

it's a bit of a challenge, but definately doable! Lots of mix and match, easy care fabrics and limit the number of shoes.

Check out "The Vivienne Files" blog (especially her "not so crazy eights" section) for wardrobe packing inspiration.

The hard part for me is the toiletries. I seem to use a lot of products :rolleyes:

LUSH makes solid shampoo and conditioner. Solid deodorant, tooth powder (takes getting used to), solid sunblock sticks (Neutrogena, Bodyshop makes one), mineral powder foundation, cake eyeliner and mascara, solid perfumes (Sephora etc).
