  1. So are you saying that she gets to pick 2 perks? The dining and another one? If that’s the case, is free DSC available? And if not then maybe shore excursion?

Yes she gets two. We are not doing any excursions through the ship. I am just going to get her the internet package and we will use it. Nothing else would work out for her.

  2. That is correct. If she does not drink then she would be better off picking a different perk.

She picked the dining. But none of the others would benefit her. I am going to get her the internet but she doesn’t even use a cellphone. I am assuming I could sign on with her password? If I am wrong please tell me.

  3. My mom is booked in an Oceanview cabin by herself. My mom is 84 and does not drink alcohol. When selecting her promos I was told that she could not get the soda package as part of her promo. She would have to pay the $100 tax and get the alcohol. Does this seem right? Should I call back and speak to someone else? I understand that when there are two adults both have to get it but she is booked alone in the room.

  4. Considering going to one of the Disney parks when docked at Port Canaveral on the Breakaway in November.

    Is it even worth it?

What time do you get off the ship and what time do you have to be back on the ship?

I am assuming renting a car for a family of 7 would be the cheapest option.

I am anxious to hear what others have done and how it worked out!

  5. I believe that the prices for extra passengers goes up based on how the ship is booking. They would prefer to book all cabins and all lifeboat spots. If they have too many cabins booking 3rd and 4th guests (often due to 3rd and 4th free), that they may fill up lifeboats before they fill up cabins - they may raise the extra passenger rate to make it cheaper for people to simply book more cabins.

No way to know if it will go down or not. It's presumably selling well.

Thank you for this explanation. When I originally booked this cabin I also got 3rd and 4th free. I had a 5th passenger in at that time but then moved one out to am inside to room with someone else. Now we want to take someone else but that price is just so high.

  6. For my sailing on the Breakaway 11/5/17, the price for the 3rd, 4th, 5th guest has increased so much.

I am in a Family Oceanview Large Picture Window. Was going to add a 5th person and the cost is $919.00. Is this unusual? Also tried pricing a 3rd person in another room we have which is an inside cabin and that rate was higher then the 1st and 2nd guest.

The prices went up right after reaching the 90 days. Does anyone know if there is a chance it will go down. Wanted to bring my daughters friend along but that price seems too much.

  7. We are taking a Baltic cruise in July of 2018 on the Breakaway. I know that the aft balconies are bigger on deck 9 but does anyone have suggestions on which aft cabin is the best on deck 9?

My family was booked in 9320 and 9318 on the Breakaway in June 2016. They were both great rooms. The. Alcott in 9320 was slightly larger. I try and post some pictures

  8. Doh. Well I think that answers my question about whether or not I should buy the spa pass!

LOL. The first few times they were in the cruise I had my mom with me and would try to meet up with my husband at the casino but my kids always wanted me lol. It always seemed like the last night before we left they wanted to go to the club.

Seriously though I would take my kids with me on vacation to be with them. And with no expectations that they would not be. We would look at the activities the kids club was doing and see if they would go for like an hour (one time in particular they were making tshirts or something and another time they had a little dance party). Other than that my kids were right by my side lol.

Last year I thought about the vibe pass and decided against it because even at 14 they would not be happy that I was somewhere they couldn't be lol!

My kids absolutely love cruising though. They have yet to be to Disney because Every year When they were young I would give them a choice and they always picked cruising!

  9. Debating whether to book this or not. GREAT deal during NJ school November conference (2500$ for the four of us, mini suite, alcohol package. :) ) We don't have to fly. Basically costs us that much just to fly the four of us anywhere else, so obviously a great rate. But wondering about kids this age for a seven day cruise.. a not so stellar experience when its just the two of us is still going to be a great time. But I don't know when you throw little ones in the mix if that holds true.

So, my specific questions below - but would love any insight especially if you have travelled with kids around that age.

    1) My kids love shows - I know Rock of Ages isn't suitable. Anything else they can see?

    2) Kids Club. Since they will be 4 and 6, concerned about the 4 year old as she won't be with her sister, who she adores. We did a Disney cruise this year and anytime they separated by ages she wasn't unhappy and I had to go get her. (She is normally very good on her own but I think vacation just threw her to be separated from her sis.) Do they ever let them play together? Think she'll get over it the separation from her sis?

    3) Pools - Heard they can be crowded. Imagine that week especially since there will be a ton of kids. Were your kids happy with the pools?

    4) Shore Excursions - Any suggestions for good ones with a 4 and 6 year old? (Atlantis, Orlando I think and GSC.)

    5) Restaurants - No clue how it works on Norwegian. Are there long waits? Are there any restaurants we should try that are especially fun for kids? Curious about how much extra $ they are?

    6) Anything not included I should plan on doing (don't mind spending money if it's worth it, like maybe cirque?)

    7) SPA. Normally we do spa passes on ships (pre-kids and on Disney...) But Disney we didn't get to use it much since the little one wasn't digging the kids club. It was pretty cheap though. Heard Breakway is expensive. Worth it?

    8) In general - any other tips?? Hoping to hear your kids loved it!

Hello. I have been cruising with my Triplets since they were 6. They never had any interest in the kids club up until recently (they are now 15) and still not real interested. I think it is because they had each other. I imagine a child that did not have siblings would love to go to the club.

I am sure your kids will love cruising.

  10. The sandbar one? It gets terrible reviews.

The island is so lovely and relaxing. Renting the equipment means you can go out when you feel like it and not be bound by schedule. I'd highly recommend it!

Thank you. We will just do it on our own then.

  11. When you say "excursion," do you mean "Snorkel the Underwater Sculpture Garden"? Because that IS just a rental, it's a self-guided tour, and you keep the equipment all day and go at your leisure.

Perhaps your itinerary shows other excursions with snorkeling, and if that's the case, then I apologize!

We bring our own snorkels and masks and snorkel around the rocks. There's plenty to see, not just in the "official" area. So fun to follow the friendly stingrays around.

There was an actual snorkel excursion that was maybe $20 more I think
