  1. On the I Pad we went to the App store and downloaded some series' from Disney Junior like special agent iso, doc mcstuffins and jungle junction. Ideal for them to watch when you are trying to get ready for dinner etc. There is also an app called finger paint which is free and is like an etch a sketch type thing. You can also download movies on the app store for them too.

  2. do you know if I make online through carnival a dinner reservation at the steakhouse, will I know right away if that time is excepted? Can I also cancel the reservation if needed?

    Hellp vbecky im Beckyv!!

  3. My daughter is 19 months and has been on 3 Carnival and 1 RC cruise and i would say go for it! Her first cruise she was 8 months and her last she 16 months. We had a great time on each.

We always travel as a large family. Me and O/H, mum and dad and my brother and his g/f. Like has been said you have babysitters on hand so it makes everything so much easier.

I enjoyed both cruise lines but RC did seem have to have much more going on, however as we don't use the baby sitting service and only briefly used the free play it didn't matter to us. To be honest i didn't want to leave my baby with people i didn't know and having family there meant we got a break without having to.

Plan lots and you will be fine.

  4. Hi

Quick question, is this excursion suitable for a 1 year old? My little one will be 13 months and is really easy going. She took her first cruise at 9 months and then another one a week later so i know cruising is fine.

What im ultimatly worried about is the boat ride, plus i doubt i will be able to take her buggy will i?

    TIA.

  5. The way I did it was go to the Playa Mia site, click on the "beach break" NOT the "Deluxe". Then on the next screen there is a "button" that says "Traveling by cruise ship? click here". The pop up screen then takes you to where you pick which cruise ship you are coming by. I picked "Carnival". This will pop up another browser that takes you to the Carnival site. Now I can't remember if it takes you directly to the different excursions in Cozumel (because I don't have a Carnival cruise now booked), but mine is just taking me to the Carnival excursions portion and I have to click on the drop down box on the side for "Cozumel, Mexico" which will bring up all of their excursions for Cozumel. Then I looked for the beach excursion. Now that I'm looking at them all, I can't seem to find the regular one either. Maybe they took it off? I'm not sure. I do know that I had a hard time finding it before, and then I had a problem with the pricing because the price on the Playa Mia site was cheaper than the Carnival one had posted. They told me that it all depended on the "date" we were going and the date we were going was a "more expensive" date.

    Thank you.

Just logged in and that made no difference all Carnival seem to have is the delux versions! Shame. Do you know anyone who has booked through the other site. Is it all legitimate? It is about $30 cheaper person.

  6. Hi Mitsugirly/Anyone else who can help!!!

Quick question if you don't mind.

I want to book the Playa Mia beach break but am getting confused. I want to book the option you had with the open bar but no buffet but cant seem to find it? On the actual site it directs you back to carnival which is $89.99 and includes the buffet as well.

Then on the other site that was posted there is also no option for just the bar! Help!!!

I tried to pm you but cant??

    TIA!

  7. Thanks! Great to get help from a local. There will be 6 of us so it will take 2 taxis. We'll stay overnight on Sunday July 4 as our Norwegian Fjords cruise begins Monday July 5.

Daughter and her family (grandsons 15 & 13) will stay at Premier Inn City Center on Friday July 16, joining us for the July 17 British Isles cruise. Can you recommend a place for them to have dinner that night?

On a Sunday you will be fine travelling around most places, so again i would recommend Cowheards. I havent eaten there for about 2 years but when i did it was very nice. You will get a similar type of pub atmosphere without having to travel outside the city centre very far, definitely take a taxi though and they will call you one for the way back.

On a Friday night JB has suggested some good places for your children and granchildren. Although i would say to avoid the Bedford Place area on a Friday night and it can be very drunken, loud and boisterous. Lots of pubs and clubs.

I would also say to them to take cabs everywhere in the evening and again not try to walk. There are some nice parks near to were they are staying which are fine to go into during the day, but not really to walk through at night. Not trying to scare you, just a word of caution.

There is a Pizza Express in Oxford Street which would be good for the children, however i have always expierenced bad service there! As has been said there are lots of nice resturants in Oxford Street although i would avoid the Tiffin Club. I found it to be pretencious food at expensive prices. Just my expierence.

Here is the oxford street website

Another nice resturant is Pilgrim House, which is near Oxford Street. This is a chinese resturant and has the option of al e carte or all you can eat. Any taxi would be able to easily take you there and they will call you one to pick you up.

Hope this is enough information. If you need any more information of specific food type resturant just ask!
