I got email from Carnival for my 4 day cruise starting Aug 11 cruise to Bermuda from NY that COVID testing is not required. However, it will vary by port you are visiting and as Bermuda wants a test, we will need a test....Duh

So, are you getting tested? We're also on the Aug 11 sailing and wondering what to do.... I'm thinking of just not disembarking in Bermuda to avoid the whole thing.

  2. Hello,

A few questions, since you offered:

    1. Do they take all luggage at the pier? Or can you carry on your own bags? We're using carryon size only, so we prefer to just bring them to our cabin ourselves.

    2. Do the cabins have hairdryers? Are they mounted to the wall? I hate the hair dryers that require you to hold in the button to use it. I am packing now, so if I can leave my hair dryer at home, it would save some space.

Thanks for any answers to these odd questions. 🙂

  3. DougK,

My husband and I have the exact same questions you posted. Now that you're back, what did you think of the Scenic excursions? Or did you do things on your own?  We are considering our first river cruise, and we're very "Type A" planners. On ocean cruises, we always plan our own tours. It sounds like we won't be able to that on a river cruise since there is no definite itinerary in advance that tells you how long you are in each port. Can you give us an idea of your experiences? Thank you.

  4. Selfishly, I recommend the Barcelona to Lisbon cruise simply because my husband and I are on that cruise, and it would be cool to have another couple that describes themselves as active! We are in our mid-40s and always look for active tours in the cities. We've got a cooking class in Valencia, a winery tour in Mallorca. You might want to look at the roll calls for the two options and see which appeals to you.
