As os Saturday 24th September, Greece removed their requirements for cruise ship passengers to test prior to boarding.

Celebrity have updated their protocols now to reflect this, however Royal Caribbean don't appear to be yet.

"Please Note: Greece has removed its unique testing requirements as of Sept. 24, 2022. Please disregard any previously received communication with special instructions for sailings visiting Greece and follow the above guidelines."

I’m waiting for Royal to change

Reading all of this is giving me slight anxiety about getting to/from our Brilliance cruise in October 😅

Sounds like a private transfer is worth the money to not deal with the shuttle/train situations.

Anyone have any recommendations for a private transfer from our hotel in Venice to Ravenna and then from Civitavecchia to our hotel in Rome?

    Thanks in advance!

I’m looking for the same thing from Venice to Ravenna. Civitavecchia to hotel in Rome we used Civitavecchia shuttle express last month. Worked great.

Just to update. When we got off the train at 11.15 today, there was a RCI shuttle outside the main entrance. This costs 10 dollars per passenger and is charged to the cabin account.

In the end this seemed easier than searching for a taxi company. So we went for this.

There appeared to be a taxi company but it was on the other exit of the station.

    Hope that helps someone else

    Thank you

  4. We are flying into Venice and spending a few days. Plan to go to Ravenna the day before the cruise and spend a night there. Looking for suggestions on transportation to Ravenna. Not necessarily the cheapest but easy.

I'm politely suggesting you think more about this.  Is the cost savings worth the inconvenience?  The whole family has to manage luggage to and on the train in Venice, off the train in Ferrara, on the train in Ferrara,  off the train in Ravenna, into the car in Ravenna, out of the car in Ravenna.

If the cost is anywhere near $44 per person I recommend you get a car transfer directly from your hotel in Venice, since the cost I calculated in my post above for 6 people was $88 per person roundtrip Venice-Ravenna.

Where did you find this car service?

  6. Has anyone used the app get tranfer to get transportation. It seems to be like an Uber you can book in advance. I’m looking for transportation from hotel in Venice to hotel in Ravenna. I would love to know anyones experience with this service.

I would get up to 4 people from my Meet and Mingle thread here on CC, and book a private limo.  Out of curiosity, I checked this out.  I'd fly into MP and stay in Venice a few days ahead, transfer to Ravenna, the do the reverse after the cruise.  I can't get enough of Venice.

Using our family as an example, we would have 6 adults.  I'd split them into two cars 3+3.  The total cost, before tip, would be $88 per person roundtrip.  That's perfectly doable IMO.

I HATE doing multiple transfers to get anywhere:  I'm even whiney about BART that I've ridden since the 1970's.

Where did you find the private limo?

Update:  I was notified today that I won one of my bids.  Earlier this morning, one changed to “unavailable” and two still showed pending with the option to modify/cancel.  This afternoon, I was upgraded from an inside to an ocean view for $90 total.  There were five other OVs available, and I asked to be moved to a front-facing cabin on deck 10.

    Did they move you.

The test cruise is Sept 18th.

Is the dry dock routine maintenance or were they renovating the ship like they just did with Freedom?

I won the drawing to participate in the test cruises but have not heard which boat I am assigned yet. I'm assuming it will be Liberty as Mariner and Oasis invites have been sent out already.

Me too. Just waiting for confirmation.
