  1. Just got upsell today for my 5/29 BA from Mini suite to haven spa for $750pp. Probably could've waited until Monday to get it a bit less but at the time they only had 4 left. Now looks like there are 5. But came in at my max so I'm happy.

  2. There appear to be three 2 BR suites left on your sailing. The rest are Haven Courtyard or Haven Spa suites, which only hold 2 passengers. If you have 3 or more in your cabin then you can only upgrade to the 2 BR suite. Maybe that's why? There appear to be AMPLE Spa Haven staterooms on your sailing.

It's just DH and I and we would really like to snag Spa Haven.

  3. I see so many deals for getaway for the next few weeks. I've been trying my luck with breakaway for weeks to no avail. Fingers crossed. Currently in a mini really only want H9 Haven Spa cabin. Special cruise for me and hubby.

  4. Do not worry at all... my wife and I have travelled on two casino comps and have two more scheduled. 3 have or will be Inside... you will have a GREAT time.

Don't forget when you check in to request your "Casino VIP" boarding pass (it usually says "Casino" or "CAS" on it - the numbered ones are general boarding). Manhattan Cruise Terminal has a dedicated Casino at Sea check in. This boarding pass will get you on board typically right after the Haven \ Suite people!!!

And since you are on a casino comp, it is safe to say you will be visiting the casino.... while docked in Bermuda, the casino is open from 9pm - 5am

Thanks for the confidence boost. And the insight of asking for casino boarding pass. If we aren't lucky enough for upsell we would like to try to get vibe cabana with the priority boarding our chances will be better. And yes I will be visiting casino. Started saving my "change" n

  5. Thanks for all the insight kingbobyjr. Really looking forward to this trip. We plan on this being a relaxing (drinking) cruise as well considering it was unexpected. Earned a comp from the casino. Nice to hear feedback from a non Haven experience. Was starting to doubt my enjoyment the way everyone raves about the haven.

  6. Thanks for the review. I have been trolling the boards for 2 months now since I booked. Hubby and I are traveling on 5/29. We are so worried as this is our first NCL cruise. We are longtime CCLers. Anyway, I have a ton of questions, feel free to answer as little or as much as you like. Just trying to get a feel for what to expect.

    1. Leaving from NYC in early May what was that like, what do you guy do for 3 days down to BDA? I know it is too cold for pool and such.

    2. We are considering spa passes and vibe cabana. I doubt the weather will be much different in a few weeks. Were you able to check out VIBE? IYO would we be wasting $?

    3. How was weather in BDA? concerned we won't be able to beach much.

    4. Did you save the dailies and if so are you able to share?

Any additional feedback would be helpful.

    Thanks

  7. You all got me excited about the Haven!!! :DI want to expeience it, especially as this is our 1st NCL cruise. Yesterday, I called the upsell number and was told there were none available for the 5/29 Getaway sailing yet. However, there are only 8 afts available and my guess is that they will be sold out soon :thumbdown: We are currently in a mini suite, so I won't be upset if we dont get an upsell. Still would be good though.

I am so excited too and am sailing in 5/29 as well but on the breakaway. I too was told yesterday no upsell a available. I'm hoping for a haven spa suite also in a mini suite. So no biggie will just purchase spa passes and cabana. But sure would like to experience haven. I did notice they still have 14 haven spa suites available today but the price dropped $200. Fingers crossed.

  8. We're on the BA now. Sitting in our Cabana in Vibe docked in PC so thank goodness back to Verizon. I will say the wifi on this ship stinks! My last ship wifi experience was on the Oasis and I guess I got spoiled. The ships layout for the sun decks is terrible. It feels so crowded and I'm so happy we were able to get the Vibe passes. As much as I hated reading that over and over pre cruise I'm forced to concur.

We arrived at the pier parking lot at 9:30 but had to wait in line to park. We were at check in around 10:10 and got boarding #23. We went straight to guest services probably got there around 12:00 (they started #1 at 11:30) and were able to get the last cabana. They had about 5 regular passes left. It looked like the regular passes only went up to 66. These were taken by the time we got through the line to pay.

Everything else is good. Food is fine- been to Ocean Blue, O'Sheehans, Savor lunch, Manhattan room, Moderno lunch buffet, regular buffet for breakfast.

The Oasis is definetly better designed for the masses and never felt crowded like this ship does. Without the guarantee of Vibe passes I wouldn't sail this ship again. We have a huge B1 balcony but I'm a sun person and can't really layout for long back there with sun placement.

Also if you want a treadmill without waiting, get to the gym before 7:30am.

The weather has been beautiful so maybe that accounts for the crowded sun decks??

Didn't mean to hijack your thread OP just thought I'd chime in. Thanks

I'd love to hear your full review when you get back. I sail on 5/29 and am currently hoping to snag affordable upsell to Haven Spa Suite. But if not will buy spa passes and hopefully get Vibe Cabana for the week.
