  1. Love HAL.  Back on this line after lots of Celebrity cruises.  Took the Oosterdam to Antarctica in January.   Phenomenal cruise once we got onboard & after quarantine for 7 days with positive Covid test..NO symptoms.  Fortunately we were in a suite & it never felt claustrophobic.   The crew couldn't do enough!  In spite of the rocky start, had a great time!   Antarctica was beyond our dreams & we had a marvelous Captain who loved showing us the greatest glaciers & icebergs.

Headed to Alaska in 3 weeks on the Eurodam in a guaranteed balcony.   Love the itinerary which includes Sitka.  Looking forward to awesome sights & impeccable HAL service!

  2. We were in 6145, Skysuite, on the Infinity in Dec. from Ft. Lauderdale to Chile (16 nites). It is an amazing SS! Larger than the others on the ship, it is also decorated in the same style as the penthouse.

The balcony is covered. It is huge with full size table & 3 chairs and reclining chairs with footstools. The cover is a fabric type that is secured with wiring. Looks like the covers they use on the Lawn Club.

I would not hesitate to book this room again just for the bathroom. Double sinks, marble tile everywhere, shower & full size tub....and lots of storage.

The closet is smaller but you have an actual hallway/entry area where we left most of our shoes. You didn't see them from the room so it didn't spoil the ambiance. There are plenty of drawers throughout the room.

We were on a 16 night cruise and took clothes for 2 climates plus evening wear.

The real caveat for this room is the electric plugs. There are 3 and 2 of them are English/European 2 pin style. Be sure to bring an adapter or you will just have access to one. :(

  3. We had a great cruise because we didn't care about the internet or tea & just relaxed & enjoyed this gorgeous ship & meeting new friends. It was our 7th transatlantic on Celebrity & there are always some problems when you have so many sea days with lots of Captains Club members.

We did hear some complaining but think some folks just shouldn't travel!:D The crew was trying hard & it was obvious there are some cutbacks. We've tried other cruiselines & still think Celebrity offers the most for our cruise funds.

We splashed out but still got a good deal on an Aqua Class cabin. Dining in Blu was a treat as always. There were many offers from the specialty restaurants for up to 50% off but we really enjoyed the food & company in Blu this time.

In fact, we liked the Sihouette so much we're booked to go again on a B2B in August!

  4. If you get seasick on land (motion sickness), consider something a bit stronger for your cruise. I use transderm patches (scopolimine). Each patch will last for 3-4 days. They are prescription only but worth the small cost. I always get seasick without them and we take 3-5 cruises a year.

Selecting a cabin is fine but you will not be in that cabin the whole trip (hope not!) so go with a prescription or even over the counter such as dramamine or bonine.

We're leaving Sat. for a 15 night transatlantic & I've got my patches ready!

Have fun & don't let seasickness keep you from cruising.:)
