We just booked this ship for April 23-28.  We had to cancel the Legend cruise that left Baltimore yesterday. 😔 But hubby said go ahead!

I appreciate this Topic, makes me more excited!  Thanks everyone.  We booked a balcony on Deck 6, Aft.  Nassau and Princess Cay, so PC will be new to us.

We just booked this one too!  Looking forward to it!  Thanks for all the reviews everyone!

  2. Could you believe where they positioned the tables for Priority and Yellow??

What were they thinking (assuming there was any thought process whatsoever) in making you cross the existing line of exiting passengers so you could grab your bags and then work your way backwards to join that line.

    Sheesh!!

    .

Yes, that was WAY disorganized! The debarkation was the worst we have ever experienced. We were yellow tags....and still had people on the ship coming off with ALL their luggage behind us! I also wondered if some of the back up was coming from the terminal/customs?????

We obviously arrived at a good time (10:30) for boarding. Dropped off luggage at terminal 1...then off to terminal 10 for parking...then bussed back to 1 for boarding. That was CRAZY....but once in the terminal, all went pretty quick and smooth. Still a long line, but kept moving decently.

We were sitting in Taste dining room by 12:30!!

  3. We are going to the Baths again for the third time. Done on our own each time. It's a short 10 minute walk to the ferry, so no need for a taxi from the dock. Like previously stated, either ferry is fine. Get the one that fits your schedule. Last time we went, open air trucks/buses were waiting to take us to the Baths and readily available to go back to the ferries.

  4. Hi. Wondering about the Baths. We are a group of 4, but one person isn't in the best shape. He likes snorkeling, but must be pretty easy going. Would he be able to snorkel and enjoy the day. Looks like it takes an hour to get there, but you say it's worth the trip. Any opinions/tips appreciated. Thank you.

If this person can walk on unlevel ground, then yes. You can snorkel directly off the beach at the end of the pathway down without having to go through the path to the other side, which is Devil's Bay. This path requires some slight climbing/walking up boulders in some places to get to Devil's Bay.

We had friends who stayed and snorkeled while we went through to Devil's Bay.

  5. We have been to the Baths twice and both times was a 7-3 port stop.

We just made sure to get on the ferry as early as possible and get the return ferry around 12:00. Got back to Tortola with plenty of time to walk and shop some. By the way, the ferry is about a 10-15 minute walk from the ship, so getting a taxi is not necessary unless you need to with the kids.

Don't count on getting a locker at the Baths. There were not very many when we went (this may have changed though) and they were kind of beat up looking. We are going again in 11 days on Epic (woohoo!) and plan to take a light backpack only. Even going to share a towel with my dh :p Just planning to take as little as possible and not worry about a locker!

You will love the Baths! Obviously we do...going back for a 3rd visit:D

  6. We went cave tubing in Belize in 2012 and I carried my regular camera (Canon Elph) in a plastic ziplock bag. I planned to take it out when I wanted to take pics...but no problem at all keeping it out the whole time really. The only time I was in water up to my chest was when we were coming in at the end of the tour...and my camera was fine in the bag; never went under water with it. I could have kept floating in the tube to the end, but wanted to get in the water :D

  7. My question is to anyone who has been on the Dawn and had a oceanview room - prefer one that isn't just a porthole.....do they have 2 beds in these rooms and a couch that will sleep a 3rd person or do all those rooms have 2 beds and drop down bunks for the extra people in a room? I really don't feel the need to spring for a balcony for our trip to Canada/New England in Oct 2012 because it will be too cold to spend time out there - but since there are 3 of us that are staying together in a room and we are all 60 + I can't see one of us having to sleep in a bunk. Any info you can send over will surely be appreciated. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go along with the planning...

I have not had an ocean view room on the Dawn...but in our kids inside cabin one year, we put the three beds in a "U" shape. One bed against one wall...the second bed against the back wall...the third bed, which I think was a cot, against the opposite wall. I hope this makes sense to you. This also left good walking room in the cabin. Hope this helps!
